Maybe I was alittle ahead on my nothing seems to be happening comment. Even if nothing seems to be going awry fro New Zealand on it only has to do with electrical power. Who knows what the effects of all the other interconnected computers, oil, etc. will bring up. Maybe the handwriting is on the future wall not todays. Maybe todays optimism is just that optimism. Tomorrows and the days ahead might change all that. We'll just have to wait an

Granted. But the news regarding basic infrastructure in many parts of the world seems remarkably good thus far--certainly better than what I personally expected. Let's hope it continues.

Of course this doesn't mean there might not be serious Y2K business problems in the weeks ahead. We'll all just have to wait and see about that. But let's hope there will be good news on that front, too. I'll be happy to be wrong on both counts.
