THE FREEDOM OF "NO PREFERENCE"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Last night, standing outside on my property, I truly felt no preference for "how it will go."

Being prepared allows me this freedom. Perhaps this is what Gordon Michael Scallion meant by "Y2K has taken on a life of its own." May we all be in gratitude for what we are learning, and let this infuse our very BEing.

The key truly is being aware and more conscious of our interdependencies and the potential loss of personal power. I prefer simplicity and intimacy over virtuality.

The way it goes is the way it goes.

Sounds good RB, words to live by. Tempers on the board have been a little edgy today it seems, for obvious reasons, and so I enjoyed reading your refreshing perspective.

There are an awful lot of people that hate to be told 'I told you so". And I'm one of them. Some of us regret the money, more of us regret the time. Some have had major marital problems because of this bug and I'm sure it's caused a few bouts of hypertension.

However, it just means that I don't go to the store for anything except fresh veggies, bread and stick butter for the next three months. IF the transportation sector has problems, I'll think of the pollies and go 'tsk, tsk' while I'm eating the stuff for which I paid 1999 prices.
