**Too amazing to here THIS from ABC NOW**

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I am watching ABC's millenium coverage and Sam Donaldson said (FINALLY) that not all systems could be tested fully until the actuall rollover (I refuse to call it the CDC because it's NOT).

DUH!!!!! how long have some people said that???

Peter Jennings said (again, FINALLY) that it is OK to worry about the whole Y2K thing....

Did anyone see that.....I was pissed that "they" FINALLY came out and said this.....Nothing like the last minute, huh?

And he said even though business say they're ok, it's not Mon. yet and there could very well be a ripple effect that can effect on down the road.

Isn't that what we've all been saying? LOL

Hey Brent - Why are you surprised - or upset??? Isn't this the good ol' media and govt. propaganda that anyone with "half-sense and one eye" ( as my Daddy used to say) can see, and has always been able to see, is just that - propaganda and b.s. They give the American public no credit for having a brain. (well - I guess that could apply in some cases......). Do they think we forget certain stories that we heard a month back - that all of a sudden are never mentioned again? ETC. etc. etc. Do they think we listen ONLY to them??? It was nice of Peter though, to tell us that it is "OK to worry" - huh. Of course I understand your feelings though, really - I get upset every time I TRY to watch a news broadcast - that's why I usually don't - they're so "transparent" - and look at how they all LOOK!! C'mon - don't let anyone tell you you can't judge a book by it's cover! Now I don't mean this to be a "judgemental" statement - I'm talking about suits, ties, and hairspray here. Not to mention toupes. Does anyone look "real"? Does anyone look "relaxed"? Oh that's right - I know - they're on TV. Sorry.
