On The Verge Of Stampede,Nashville TN

From my friend at Harris Teeter, almost everyone who came through the checkout lanes was panic stocking for y2k,with orders no less than $200.00 each.Water, canned food, beer, ice(it's supposed to be about 70 degrees here)small grills are gone.Krogers, same story.

At my liquor/wine store many shoppers were still adding to their stash.Much talk of y2k,questions about other y2k shoppers. Some know me as the y2k nut and have started asking me questions about prepping. Some whom I talked to 2/3 months ago who were polly's are now trying to get stocked and thinking in weeks not days.

It is amazing the turn around in the mind set just sinse Christmas. As for the people who know me as the "nut" no longer make remarks about showing up at my house if things go sour, they just want quick advice.

Recently instead of being a total hard-ass and telling them I would shoot them if they came to my door I told them about my "ADOPT A POLLY" program, make an effort to help yourself and I'll help you the best I can,a couple of these are friends who can't really afford to do what Ive sacrificed my ass off for,the polly's get slop jar duties (hehehe)

Well folks this is probably just a start to what will be a crazy Friday,I don't know if I'll get a chance (I'll try) to post again so the very best to you all,you have been a Godsend and I consider you all my friends and family. Iv'e been here for about 15 months ,I'm in Nashville Tn and if you ever need me and the net is up holler or call I'll be there.

Sincerly, Tony Cannon (commonly known as...)

Thanks, Tony, for the post. I love your "Adopt a Polly" program. We have a bachelor neighbor of very limited funds and no access to the internet. We don't think he is aware of Y2K. We've planned to help him if things go bad. We haven't said anything to him because it would not help to freak him about Y2K, but he is going to be our "adoptee".

Let's all hope that things will go well, and we won't need to assist these good folks in the weeks and months ahead.

Best Wishes for the New Year.
