Walmart, 6:30pm CDT.

Bottled water - almost empty (shelves). People asking clerks for more to be stocked (gal. jugs).

Kerosene for decor lamps - Non-existent in this city.

Flashlights - Down to just a few (est. 15). Still selling like hotcakes.

Propane - 2 small bottles on the shelf.

Camp Stoves and Lanterns - Few left. People browsing them.

"D" Cell Batteries - NONE in stock at Walmart. None coming in before rollover. People asking for them still. BTW, I got the last two packs of 4.

Ammunition - Clerk shows me a half full shelf and says he is selling it fast. Mostly 30-30, 243, 12 ga., 30-0'6 and .22. Laughs about the situation.

Gas Cans - In stock but down considerably. 3 5gal. cans on shelf.

Canned goods still plentiful.

Gasoline - Two stores report much heavier sales than yesterday (which was massive here) when I posted. People still finding vehicles to fill and cans to top off.

NG Armory - No movement of equip. No additional equip. Building not yet occupied.

Neighboring city NG Armory - Additional Heavy Utility vehicles moved in in last 6 weeks. Nothing since. Same status basically as home Armory.

Police - Scanner chatter all day about vehicle status and communications status. (3) vehicles dispatched to take officers to pick up (3) cars which had been in shop for servicing/modification (?). Nothing out of ordinary on the streets.

Thanks for your post. Prince George, BC, Canada is quiet (on the outside) but you can see people have the jitters...more people at work are joking about y2k, but the laughter is strained.

Super Walmart in Greenville, SC Wed night had 90 2-paks of 2.5 gallon gas cans. Tonight---ZERO.

There was plenty of 20 ga birdshot on the shelf. No 22 or other long guns. Minimal 12 ga (mostly light shot). One box of rifled slugs....10 ga.

Sleeping bags....gone. Camp stoves...you gotta be kidding. Bottled water? Only if you find an empty jug and take it to the tap. I stood in line at the gun counter (to buy birdshot for varmits) and watched them sell 2 shotguns. It's kinda crazy here. This is the type of place that they say 'snow' and there's not a loaf of bread or a gallon of milk for 60 miles.

Gas stations on the west side of town are packed (redneck country). Stations on the east side toward Spatanburg are moderately quiet (yuppie area).
