European storms: latest

-- Risteard Mac Thomais (, December 29, 1999

More than 130 people have died in three days of severe storms, avalanches and floods across France, Austria, Italy and Spain.

My previous posting was a link to CNN. Here's the latest from the BBC. Situation seems to be deteriorating.

Does anyone know if this is normal weather for this time of the year? Would solar flares have anything to do with this?

Did these people prepare for a three day winter storm?

(Warning : don tinfoil hat.)

If Russia knows how to make and deploy dodgy weather via some wierd- ass weapon system, and if that is what this is, then it's understandable (but evil) strategy. If it's the US doing it??...then man! the plot thickens.

My guess... this is like what the global-warming boffins have been warning about for a decade now. Whatever it's ultimate cause - (carbon dioxide, the sun, natural cycles, something else,) - who can deny that the world's weather is getting increasingly funky. Just ask the insurance industry. Strange days indeed! Most peculiar momma.

NO - this is NOT normal weather! The storm has been the worst storm in Europe since weather records began.

Is this a sign of God's judgement.

This is definitely not normal weather... Normal weather is a three day storm, with a few power outages. This is serious...hurricane force winds and heavy precipitation.
