Y2K=April 15 ?

Every year, a large part of the U.S. population pays their taxes on April 14, a day before the deadline. Will these people decide to make their Y2K preps on Dec. 31 ?

Yes indeedy. And as GN has noted so many times, it takes only a fractional increase in sales volume or consumer demand to overburden the precisely "regulated" JIT inventory systems, so that shortages occur instantaneously. Christmas Eve I needed a few stocking stuffers, and was surprised to see that at all the discount malls/shopping centers, the parking lots were crammed with cars, and almost no spaces to spare: "everyone" had waited to the last minute for at least one item. Even I, as a good "doomer" am doing last minute preps of a sort that are totally time-conusming.
