Saw an interesting program on the Discovery channel tonight about the floods of 97 in the Fargo ND area. This was not really interesting because it was close to home,(we're 200 miles south) but it did strike a Y2K note. The NWS had so underestimated the amount of water/melt they were actually only off by 10%. That 10% translated into 4-5 more feet of water which flooded the town and the rest is history. Now even if the failure rate of embedded chips is 10% by numbers alone that's alot. But just like the city of Fargo every one knows those chips are out there it just depends how long they can keep "sandbagging" to keep the flood back. My guess is not long. The bright side of that story is everyone helped out to rebuild, I hope whatever happens here we to can become a team. "LET THE CHIPS FALL WHERE THEY MAY."
