How old does Azo have to be before it is no good???

I just got done with a darkroom session using Azo paper I got at an estate sale. The stuff expired in 1976. Funny thing is, the prints from it are indistinguishable from those on the Azo I just got new this past month. How long does this stuff last? I know the guy I got it from kept it in the attic-with no summer airconditioning because that is where I helped unload the box from. I know it is supposed to last, but this was a surprise. Now if I can just find a few pounds of Amidol...

I'm still working out of a 500 sheet box that is at least ten years old, and has gone through the same storage conditions you mention, including a trip across the country in 90 degree heat. It seems to be fine. I looked on the box but can't find an expiration date. I guess this stuff just keeps going ... and going ... and going ... and ...
