What am i doing wrong??

Can any body help me with this photo..what is causing the photo to loose its definition(sharpness)...is it the lens that seems to be the guilty party or the the camera's autofocus or the film type( i know it is difficult question)...i use a minolta 500Si super with a 28-210 Cosina lens and 200 fuji film..(i know the lens is a cheapy my shopping list is in New York as i speak) Thanks for any advice available. It's really hard to judge the sharpness of an image from an 82k jpeg on a monitor. Did you use a tripod? What was your shutter speed? Even though really expensive glass is considered 'sharper' than consumer lenses, good technique generally is what you need for sharp images. If you were handholding and had a relatively slow shutter speed, it's probably just camera shake. It's also possible that a good deal of definition was lost in the scanning process...
