If you shop around, you can buy a case of 12 quarts of oil around $9 to $10. I have 10 cases. Do it this week while it is cheap!

10 cases? That would be a 30 year supply for me. Not knocking the advice though, I've gotten 4 cases. If that won't do me then I won't get done.

Not trying to be a smartass but what good is engine oil if you can't get gasoline? On the other hand, if gasoline is available, then engine oil would be too.

Right on bbb, Lars in time some cars could be converted to run on other types of fuels which we could make domestically maybe not as many total gallons but some supply would pop up. (For bbb) I've researched this a little see what you think, could soybean oil be used as a alternative "oil". I know it would be quite a bit thinner, but it's a resource.

Good advice on the oil, bbb. Fuel Boy, soybean oil has been used to fuel an internal combustion engine, but it can't lubricate one. The oil breaks down at those temperatures -- and in the north, it turns to jello at around zero F. in a cold engine. (Or was that fish oil? Big sigh. Time takes it toll on the memory banks.)

Cash thanks, I know making "soy-diesel" is rather hard compared to ethonal, methane, etc. The by product or soybean oil most processing plants get as a by product would that be able to run "as is" in a diesel engine. I haven't talked to any one or seen any info if that would work??
