My Preps-Suggestions?

Out prepring today-some observations.
I live in Central Florida so take it in context.
Home Depot, 8:00 a.m.-Out of 5 gal. gas. Got 2 more 6 gal. cans.
Plenty of propane
Albertsons, 9:00-Plenty of canned goods, i.e. Dinty Moore, stocked up., etc. I have a 5,000 generator (that can easily power a microwave. Two cases of Jack Daniels.
Gun Shop, one clerk, 15 customers (you judge)
Moved on to WalMart, pollies wandering around picking up 50% off wrapping paper. Couldn't believe it. Got more lamp wick and oil. Also, 7mm Remington mag, "00" Buckshot, and .22 long rifle (I have lot of squirrels as I live in the country).
Since I live in the country, I have a well, artesian, and a septic tank (no s**t backing up on me)
Now if the TSHTF, I feel that I am ready. However, those of you that have guard dogs, or any pets, please prepare for them. I have a 130 lb. Rottweiller that will eat anything that will come in the gates, and he is well prepared for. God Bless you all.

Looks like your set, just hope you aren't handling it all alone.

Good suggestion about preparing for the animals as well. Thanks.

Two cases of Jack Daniels and a 7mm Remington Magnum? Holy smokes! Just remember that the JD diminishes your ability to handle the Magnum safely and effectively.

Place some signs along likely acess routes to your property, but not "marking" your property. Do this after it's obvious things went very bad.

One example might be LOOTERS: Will be shot! Leave your weapons here before continuing!

Few will continue into an area where it looks like the neighborhood is prepared for them. Maybey avoid unessacary confrontations.

That way if you see anyone carrying, you know they didn't take you seriously. If you survive the engagement, it might be well to post the sign on the body(ies) as a further psycological deterent. A kind of "no tresspassing" they can identifiy with.

Harder still to deal with are the children and victims of the potential crisis. It might be good to have some charity provisions for travellers, but again this is difficult as charity can quickly turn into dependance in situations like this.

Good luck to you and yours.
