Storage of Kerosene

How long does kerosene last when stored in 5 gal. containers. I have some that's now about 3 yrs. old. Can this still be used in space heater? Can an additive rejuvenate it if its too old now?

It's never a good idea to let consumable supply get old since ruinous time will have its way with all things but storage life of K1 kerosene is pretty long.

If the fuel was stored in a sealed container, it's still clear looking with no cloudiness and you can't detect any condensation or crud build up on the bottom of the container it should still be good to use. Some fuel preservative wouldn't hurt if you want. I'd use it up and replace it with fresher fuel as soon as you can so you'll have more certainty in your supplies.

I know we have used some in lamps that was at least 5 years old. I wouldn't worry a lot about it as long as there isn't a lot of sediment in it.
