Livestock Management Software

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I have been searching the web for quite a while to find a software to help manage small herds of goats and sheep (about 50 total). The program should, more specifically, pertain to birth info & genealogy. Kidding/lambing, milk records/fleece ,meds ,worming. I would appreciate any information you could provide me with that may help locate such a program. Thank you, Susan Saunders

There are several ways to find such software. One might start at the National Registry pages for the specific goat or sheep breeds. Often these web pages will have links to such software. Another good method would be to do a web search against "breeding software" or "livestock management" using a search engine such as Yahoo.com or Search.com. Either method should yeild satisfactory results.

You might try looking to the "Dairy Goat Journal"

Why not just use a spread sheet such as excel or lotus? Down one side you list your animals names or numbers and across the top list the categories you want to track.
