FWIF department

A good friend called me yesterday and related
his observation of the Eprata, WA armory. There
was an increase of vehicles in the yard. They
"looked like boats", tapered in the front. There
were about 15 of them, 20' long. Some had cranes
on the rear. No activity in the yard. IMO this is
in the most sparsely populated part of WA. He also
observed more trucks than usual and no jeeps.

Are these vehicles for NCB preparedness?

Answers

Yes, this is for Y2K.

How can it not be y2k related?

does it look like this:

this is an amphibious russky apc, the btr-80, used a lot for UN "peacekeeping" missions I'm sure some other posters here would know of US types of these vehicles

One "expert" after another says no military build-up, no malitia action, then report after report such as yours, spider, comes along and gives first hand information on odd military actions.

"something wicked this way comes."

I think it much more likely your friend saw some HEMTT trucks (sorry, no pic). They are also "tapered at the front" and have small cranes mounted on the back. This is a normal .mil vehicle, used for moving heavy stuff off-road.

Ephrata, WA is close to the Columbia river. Where there are dams.

Well that sieve the Hanford reactor is just down the road from there.

Just FWIW, we rode by the NG armory in our town yesterday, and there were substantially more vehicles there than we have seen in the past 4 or 5 years. Most we could see were 'hauling' types, could not see all of the yard good enough to tell what all was there....
