LOTTO Kaput???

FWIW...At 1430, I stopped at a rural SW Oregon store to get the paper and a Lotto ticket. The cashier said that the Lotto computer terminals were down, statewide. Asked her if it was y2k. Muy aggravated, she said she had called in to inquire and was told "we don't know what's wrong, we're working on it. We don't know when the system will be back up." Anyone have any better info?

I guess the gamblers are going to going crazy over this one. Might even have to call up some friends and play a round of cards.

NY has their new "Millenium Millions" lotto if somebody feels really optimistic. The drawing is set for the evening of New Year's Eve. Right now the prize is up to near $100 million.

Hmmm.... a few bucks on tickets to hedge my call on economic chaos? A winner sure could build a heckuva farm retreat with that kinda cash even while a devolution was occurring.

how interesting? it would really be interesting if most LOTTOs went down. boy, talk about God's justice. the poor would cry and cry that their precious LOTTO games were down when in effect they ought to be thankful they are down and then cry that they have been GIVING THEIR MONEY AWAY FOR SO LONG TO THE STATE OR TO CROOKS!!!!!
