A MOMENT OF SILENCE

2000 Years ago a revolution took place om this planet whose echoes have yet to cease. A man born of God came forth and delivered a message of peace and love for all to share. Let's just forget Y2K for the evening and reflect on all that is good in our lives, and pray for the conmtinuation of the same. God Bless you one and all, and Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas, Nikoli,

It's cool to see a man named Nikoli worshipping Y'shua. (Happy Birthday, Y'shua. I love you.)

-- DB (tomG@h.com), December 24, 1999.

Nikoli, some of CAN'T forget about Y2K, not when it is but a week away. But God bless you, and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

-- King of Spain (madrid@aol.cum), December 24, 1999.

Like Y2K, no one knows. No one knows when Christ was born, there is no historical record that says Jesus was born on December 25. Isn't it odd that no record was made of his birth date, but record was made of the time of his death. It is a tradition that we celebrate his birth and we reverence his death. I can't forget about Y2K, it will be there in the back of mind until it comes to a closure. However, I will enjoy the day, watch the smiles on my children's faces and enjoy the present moment. May God be with you all, may God help us.

-- Limbo (Limbo@limbooo.xcom), December 24, 1999.

Because of some Y0K glitches they had with the abacus back then, the nearest they can figure is that he was born 2004 years ago.

(One of) the nicest threads I have seen in some time. Merry Christmas to all on Yourdan's. Enjoy the holiday in your tradition and my hope is that this will truley be, the best one of all, for each of you. Merry Christmas, my friends.

Thanks ST. Nikoli-

Isn't it amazing that we should find ourselves in a position of being at the mercy of our own limitations? With all our best and finest at odds of the certainties of next week. To find ourselves helpless against the overwhelming forces of nature, both Mother and human.

For us, those whom believe in Christ and his father, while fearful of these uncertainties, we are not faced with a dead end. It is not hopeless, or hapless. I feel that is was by design that I found this board, and the guides here. I am prepared to be of assistance if needed, because many many things may be in need of repair. It is lack of faith that leads to my fears, but I always get reminded of His power, Love and grace, and return to purpose.

Merry Christmas to you all, and a heart felt THANKS!

With Love;

Michael

Nikoli,

I've mostly been a lurker on this forum posting only a few times. I want to take a moment to say though that I have appreciated your posts as well as Invar's and Big Dog's. With all the negatives that have taken place this century, there is also much to be thankful for. May our Lord and Savior, whose birth we recognize tomorrow, richly bless you and your's this Christmas. The email address I have shown is real, feel free to email me sometime. I was born in 1955 and graduated high school in 1974, so we are very near in age and judging from your posts our beliefs also.

May we all take a time out tonight and tomorrow from criticizing our leaders, the pollies, the doomers, the trolls etc, etc. They are all our brothers, sisters and nieghbors for whom we should be praying. One week from now when Y2k begins it's impact, my prayer is that community would become the rule and chaos the exception.

Jesus is the reson for the season, Jesus is the answer for the world today (and 1 week from now). Truly seek Him and you will truly find Him.

To Nikolai

"...God came forth and delivered a message of peace and love for all to share."

This is a classic misconception. And very typical of those who are ignorant of the Bible itself. They tend to morph Jesus Christ into some namby pamby wanderer who went about breathing mild benedictions on people.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Read his own words please.....

Matthew 10:34

"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. "

Matthew 10:35 For I came to *SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW

Perhaps you do not realize that the message that Christ gave was that HE is the ONLY way unto salvation. Not, Islam, Not Buddhism, not Shintoism, NOT Catholicism.

The overwhelming majority will NOT accept this truth and repent so as to be saved. And it is THIS that will separate even families. Christ KNEW full well that this message would bring even war to families themselves. He did not come to bring 'peace' to people and their families. He came to bring a message of salvation that would be rejected by the overwhelming majority causing disscord. Christ lived and was crucified that all who repented might be saved through him.

So please, stop making out that Jesus Christ was some milque-toast pacifist. He was not. He knew that his message of salvation would cause strife and disscord and hatred. But only to those who REFUSE to repent.

I'll make a deal with you Nik. I'll forget Y2K for the evening if you promise to forget about nuclear bombs at least until January 3. I figure by then maybe there will be enough other disastrous things for you to worry about, and the "use 'em or lose 'em" window of opportunity will have passed. What do you think, can you do it? I hope you can, but if not I hope you will at least have a Merry Christmas. Best wishes.

Today has been one of the most moving ( emotionally) days of my life. Last Month my wifes (Aunt) Katherine passed away. Katherine was an orphan, with no living relatives that we know of. She was born in 1917, Warsaw , Poland. No record remains of her parents, or even of her proper name. At the age of two she was imported to the United States by a Catholic orphanage in Chicago. By the age of fifteen she had fled this orphange and was working as a Prostitute in the speakeasy's of Chicago, a life she followed until one Thomas Gresham, a sailor returning from WWII, married her and brought her home to East Texas. Thomas (TD) opened a country general store, and Katherine set about repaying her debt to the Lord. She spent the next fifty years putting on puppet shows, clog dancing, and doing birthday party's for the people of the area nursing homes and hospitals. Free of charge and working up to forty hours per week. She spent untold thousands of dollars buying and making gifts for elderly citizens and sickly children, none of whom she even knew.

My wife was a year old when her mother moved into the house next to the one occupied by Katherine and her husband, TD. 1959 to be exact, in Lonestar, Texas. Judy (my wife) became the adopted daughter of Katherine, who by cruel fate was unable to bear children of her own. Judy's father was killed Christmas eve 1960, by a drunk who ran a red light. Katherine and Marie(my wifes mother) pressed laundry, cleaned houses and mowed yards to make ends meet for the next ten years, at which time Marie remarried.

Katherine and Judy drifted apart a little, as her teenage years took her down the path of life. She tried drugs, had an abortion at seventeen which haunts her to this day. We met when she was 21, and have been married for 20 years. One weekend out of every month for 20 years my wife has gone with Katherine to cheer up folks in retirement homes. With balloons and puppets, dancing, singing, birthday cakes, and practical joles they brought a moment of joy to the lives of the hopeless. To Katherine this was not a once a month job. She did it every day. Christmas was her EPITOMY of JOY.

This month, Katherine passed away. Her husband, TD, had preceeded her by a year and a half. There were no surviving relatives, on either side. She designated Judy as the executor of her will, and as heir to her house and estate. After the funeral we went to her house to see what needed to be done to secure her property, and were amazed at what we found. HUNDREDS of TEDDY BEARS, from dischevealed(sp) to brand new, and every state of repair in between, Hundreds of dolls, many from the turn of the centurry, in various states of restoration, with dozens in like new condition. Thousands of handmade Christmas ornaments, santas, lights, trees, sleds, manger scenes, and cards.

The final line on her will instructed Judy to deliver these goods to those who could use them most. For three weeks now we have been packaging and wrapping homemade rocking horses, snowmen, angels, santas, teddy bears, dolls, and an endless variety of toys to give to family and friends. I had a full truckload of presents to give to the salvation army.

Tonight my mother opened the cedar box labeled Mother, which had been handbuilt by TD, and she cried. I did too. My sister got the handcrafted rocking horse tree ornament, which had to have taken 100 hours of labor to produce. How do you put a value on something like that? MY wife has been crying for nearly a month, since Katherine died, and for the life of me I can't think of a good reason to tell her to stop.

Thanks for sharing that, Nik.

-- Jim Morris (jim_morris@hushmail.com), December 24, 1999.

Amen, Nikoli!

May the Lord shower His blessings on you and yours. No matter what the problems in life may be, isn't it great being a Christian? I wish everyone could know 'the peace that passes all understanding.'

Come, Lord Jesus! (And I'm not one who thinks January 1, 2000 will be it.)

-- Connie Iversen (hive@gte.net), December 24, 1999.

Hey, Guess what Paul Milne, I'm chuckling in agreement as I read your post, cause I was listening to the Book of Matthew today, and Jesus was making me laugh out loud, and I could hear John the Baptist clapping and saying 'That boy preaches as well as I do", because Jesus was telling the scribes and pharisees - and I QUOTE - "You try to look like saintly men but underneath those pious robes of yours are hearts besmirched with every sort of hypocrisy and sin."!!!Ooh. No milque-toast in THAT farewell speech. (I MASSIVELY love you, Y'shua. Jesus.Lord.)

But in reality,Paul, Nikoli is One of us, because just like you and just like me, he listened to the still, small voice telling us to take care of our families in these trying times. In fact we Are His hands and His voice, when it comes to taking care of our children. It would be true disobediance to God to abandon our families. Nikoli ain't the kind of Christian that's on tv begging for a handout to keep his show on the air - while at the same time claiming that God is Bigger than Y2K. But if God is Bigger than Y2K, then WHY isn't he Bigger than your television bills, Mr. Preacherman?(just a thought.)

In other words, maybe your agnst is really directed to the ones who talk the talk - yes, even in Religion - but don't walk the walk.

Take care, Everyone on this Site. The lowliest Christian on this site is bigger than the biggest preacherman on tv if he doesn't take care of his family. It isn't his "duty" to either Feed or to Save "The World". His duty is ONLY to his Family. That is ALL God requires of him, and it is all God WANTS from him. Excuses don't cut it.

Peace.

-- DB (tomG@h.com), December 24, 1999.

p.s.sorry, Nikoli; so much for that moment of silence. But I'll make it yet. (and ALL of you who take care of your families are Heroes, in My Book.)

-- DB (tomG@h.com), December 24, 1999.

Nik -- You're right. Christ was and is the eternal revolutionary. Milne is right too, but the sword of the Word is always a sword of love, even when he comes with the sword of His "mouth", in eternal wrath on those who hate Him. In fact, God's love burns most fiercely upon those who hate Him.

Notice, though, it is as the Lamb Slain that the elders worship Him EVEN THOUGH He is also and always the Lion of Judah. Isn't that true of our worship as well?

Christ Jesus also comes (came) as a human infant, fearlessly dependent on His earthly parents and His heavenly Father. May we have that same fearless dependence in the days to come, whatever they may bring.

-- BigDog (BigDog@duffer.com), December 24, 1999.

to Paul Milne. God speaks to each of us in our hearts, and the message may well vary with the mission. Rest assured we are in total agreement on our politics, if not our exact interpretation of the scriptures,

-- Nikoli Krushev (Doomsday@y2000.com), December 24, 1999.

Nikoli, What a wonderful tribute to your wife's aunt. May many blessings pass your way. Many blessings to all. Paul, I was laughing at your post and my sister said, "Hey, you said exactly that to me, today." Yes. I had. Real spiritual life is not what we think it is. And it ain't easy. But it doesn't preclude people of other faiths since: There is no God but God.

Nikoli,

I still think that your description of hearing Gary North on the radio while you were sitting in a bulldozer in a mine was one of the funkiest posts I've ever read.

Have a great Christmas, everyone. Best wishes,

-- silver ion (nosnow@TO.tonight), December 25, 1999.

Milne,

You got to it before me. Christ was a revolutionary whose arsenal was "literary hand granades". For instance, in those days it was thought that the rich were thus so because they were blessed by God and so in His favor. This menat they no doubt were most likely to go to heaven. When that line came out about the camel passing through the eye of a needle, it completely undermined the then social structure. Do you mean to say that a poor servant might have an equal shot at getting into heaven? It was unthinkable then.

What about selling your coat for a side arm? Not that I own a coat, so I can't sell it for a sidearm, but there are lots of nuts and bolts in the Bible which do not water down into the spoon fed mash of the NWO definition of "peace".

Just some food for htought--look it up.

"MY wife has been crying for nearly a month, since Katherine died, and for the life of me I can't think of a good reason to tell her to stop."

Nik, being from Texas I'm sure you've at least heard of Stevie Ray Vaughan, so hopefully you can relate to this little story I'd like to share with you and your wife. I'm a huge fan of Stevie Ray. Saw him in concert just a few months before he died at the age of 35. I cried when he died too. But a few years ago, I started hearing a young kid named Kenny Wayne Shephard, and chills went down my spine. It still happens every time I listen. I now have no doubt that Stevie Ray is still alive and well.

It isn't just a matter of technique or style, it is the spirit. We are all spirits in a material world, and our spirit flows from soul to soul. It is impossible not to, because we are all part of the same spirit, the spirit of God. Sometimes we touch the souls of others so profoundly that we become expressed through their spirit as well, as in the case of Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

Tell your wife there is no reason to be sad, because Katherine is still alive. Katherine is especially alive within your wife, as it is obvious that her soul has been deeply touched by her. Rather than crying for Katherine, your wife can allow her to continue to live, by expressing the parts of her spirit that Katherine showed her. This is just one of the many beautiful things that we will all discover about this eternal life that God has given us. Merry Christmas.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), December 25, 1999.

Aloha Everyone!

Actually, I think there is some confusion here as to when Jesus was born and why he came here and who he is:) There has been some mis-infomation on this subject also, kind of like y2k?

For those who seek truth read the link, for those who are comfortable in their beliefs don't go to the link:) http://www.ubook.org/upapers/ubpaper122.html#P122_8_1
