Playing the Word Game

The semantic range of several words and phrases is going to be broadened considerably. We already have one example: panic. It has been widely used this year by authorities, industry spokesmen, and journalists to mean "preparing for the possibility of troubles ahead." Colleen Childers, "a state certified mental health counselor with background in disaster mental health planning, and community and disaster mental health counseling," wrote about this in The Truth About Panic, December 3, 1999: "Using definitions and criteria that, in the disaster mental health field, are extraordinary in their simplicity, novelty, and complete falsehood, Mr. Greenspan and Mr. Koskinen have repeatedly implied in their public statements on Y2K that two preparedness behaviors - withdrawing cash from private bank accounts and the purchase and storing of more than a three-day supply of food - are not only unnecessary, but also indicative of or likely to lead to widespread panic. There are several problems with the 'Greenspan-Koskinen Panic Prophecy,' not the least of which is that the banking industry's use of the term 'panic' to describe individual and/or collective depositor behavior is 1) academically incorrect, 2) socially manipulative, and 3) highly self-serving. Moreover, statements implying that having more than three days worth of food in your pantry is radical or socially maladaptive behavior are, to put it bluntly, irrational. Using Greenspan-Koskinen 'logic,' which is really a form of social engineering, Just-In-Time Inventories created human beings, instead of the other way around."

====================

Koskinen and other pollyanna filth have been dissuading people from serious preparation. They have said that people who prepare 'seriously' are 'panicking'.

This is toatal crapola. Not only is it NOT panic, it is social responsibility.

This 'mental health professional' with a background in dealing with emergency situations clearly explains why it is Koskinen HIMSELF who is irrational. Not only is he irrational, but he is a bald faced liar as well.

The remediation has failed. The government has lied about it. They have no choice now but to continue to lie. If they had urged preparation two years ago, they would not be in this position. Now, it is too late. Their only hope is to cross their fingers and pray that things do not go boom.

Won't be long now till things go boom.

Answers

The opinions of most mental health "professionals" are suspect, especially those who are government lackeys and those toadying up to government. (And, remember "nurse Ratchet"?)
