This is NOT fun for me to say.

Ahh....I see- ONE of you is a liar and/or con artist. And I'm supposed to read your posts and hold them in good faith? Especially not knowing either of you folks personally. Wonder how many others who post here fall into this category? Glad I prepped in a way that did not include one of these Co-op scams. Co-op...Hmmm...Does that nto mean CO-Operative? Anyway-got my grain mill locally, brand new about $15 if I remember.

-- Satanta (EventHoriz@n.com), December 24, 1999.

I purchased an Aladdin lamp though Stan and I had the best of service. I checked out the price, availability of the lamp and going through him was the only way I could obtain the lamp before the new year. I certainly hoped he got a lamp for free for all his time and effort to help folks get the lamps that are not readily available to them. I have no complaint against Stan. I received prompt e mail replies from him and even a phone call at his expense to verify the details of the lamp. I received my lamp and accessories and I am very pleased.

-- Carol (glear@usa.net), December 24, 1999.

My reputation speaks for itself.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

Glear: we bought a lamp from him too. We ALSO waited nearly TWO MONTHS for him to give us a price on the accessories we ordered. The FEW times he deigned to reply to our numerous queries, he told us hang on, it'll be going out tomorrow, etc. Now, because he's miffed that HE screwed up, he's told us to go piss up a rope.

You decide who you want to believe. I don't really care. All I'm doing is countering the lies -- and if they persist, legal action is NOT out of the question -- to clear my good name. Just one thing: if you DO deal with him, and DO take one up the bung, don't come whining to me, because I've programmed the phrase "I TOLD YOU SO" as a keyboard macro.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

Folks, can we take this private? We all have much better things to do 5 days before the big event.

Stan is out at the post office sending out Co-op preps at this very moment. If anyone has something to discuss they can call us directly at [snip phone#--per request--Sysop].

BTW, Stan's reputation on eBay is sterling as well.

-- Meg Moss (Meg@y2k.am), December 24, 1999.

Cute. Take the first swing at me, accuse me of every vile act under the sun, breach a confidence -- IN PUBLIC -- and then whine that you want it taken PRIVATE when you get your nose rubbed in the facts?

How remarkably... consistent!

By the way, your ebay link goes nowhere. Just like your promises to US.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

EXCUSE ME! I met Stan in person with Lilly and he was telling us how the people who is was making the co-op with the Grain Mills was not going to honor the deal. The he told us how he felt so bad for the people who made that one particular order (all the many other orders went through and people got items in a timely fashion and a GREAT deal). He was trying to find another way to get the people their grain mills (I guess he couldn't). I had bought a Solar Oven and Iodate pills through Stan and got both at great prices and on time. Stan is a kind hearted man. That's my say!

-- Debi (LongTimeLurker@shy.com), December 24, 1999.

Stan is one of the (very) few Y2K vendors I have any respect for. He doesn't let people ruffle his feathers, he is always polite and courteous, he doesn't resort to long tirades of profanity filled nonsense and he is upfront that he is a Y2K supply vendor.

-- Butt Nugget (catsbutt@umailme.com), December 24, 1999.

Excuse you for WHAT, Debi?

For implying that because Stan badmouthed us -- lied about us by saying that we were not going to honor a deal that HE dragged out for WEEKS and then tried to change ex post facto -- that he was somehow telling the truth?

Explain the logic there to me, Debi. Explain how his unsubantiated assertions translate to *truth*. Explain to me how his neglect to inform you that we told him how to purchase the mills *direct* from Dimas -- at ~$17 each -- was a *nice* thing for him to do.

Explain to me why he chose *not* to purchase from Dimas?

I'm all ears, Debi.

Your turn.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

He does, of course, lie to people, and breach confidences.

I guess that's "ethical" in Butt Nuggetland.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

As well as TB2000land. Or do you actually believe all of these stories that "concerned citizens" post here?

-- Butt Nugget (catsbutt@umailme.com), December 24, 1999.

As a semi-impartial observer, Ron wins because he's got 114 positive feedback on eBay which means he's had AT LEAST 114 transactions where the buyer or seller were satisfied. That doesn't count all the transactions where people were too lazy to post feedback.

But I guess I'm not an impartial observer because Stan has been pushing his product too hard on this board and its been very irritating. He's pissed me off from his broken record advertisements.

-- Guy Daley (guydaley@bwn.net), December 24, 1999.

Also as a semi-impartial observer, it would seem that Stan posted without naming names.

No one -- except Ron -- would have known who he was talking about had Ron not gone beserk........blown his cover, and launched a campaign against Stan.

Oh, well, the great world of e-commerce.

-- (hmm@hmnm.hmm), December 24, 1999.

Butt: I believe some, I question some, I reject some. It's called "critical thinking".

Dan: What I need a grain mill for: There is nothing like the aroma or flavor of fresh baked whole wheat bread, made from fresh ground wheat. "Store bought" flour isn't anything close. I also like grinding my own corn meal, and, I like being able to make my own feed for my chickens, ducks, and geese at a fraction of the cost of "factory" feed. Gee, that's why I need -- and have -- *three* grain mills! Now, as to why I need poultry, all I can say is that if you've ever tasted a *real* egg or *real* chicken (as opposed to the tasteless stuff from the grocery), you'll know.

Guy: Thanks.

Hmm: Hi, Troll. Stan took a shot at me, I replied to his lies. He then named names, so give it up with that "without naming names" crap. As to "launch[ing] a campaign against Stan", oh, please. He called me a liar, accused me of a medly of evils, and when I answered the lies, *you* take it upon yourself to characterize that as "a campaign against Stan"?

I always chuckle at "Waaah! He hit me back!" nonsense.

The facts speak for themselves, and truth will -- as always -- out.

And to whoever it was who boasted about promptly getting what was ordered, I'll again point out that after waiting since EARLY LAST MONTH -- and *repeatedly* inquiring about OUR order for lantern accessories -- we're *today* informed that he's simply going to leave us twisting in the wind.

The fact that it's the *second* time he's left us twisting in the wind does not accrue to his reputation insofar as I'm concerned.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

hmmmm said: it would seem that Stan posted without naming names.

On this thread read the top three posts. You will notice that Ron didn't use any names, but Stan starts his next reply by "outing" the Schwarz' "Since you have decided to mix truth with fiction, I think it is only appropriate that we all know who you and your wife are. "

I suspected something was up with Stan when he kept posting the same thread over and over again....now we ALL know why.

I would like to comment that I am rather amazed to see a "business person" (Ron Schwarz) posting something of this nature in a public forum.

Since it appears that the nature of the business deal between Mr. Schwarz and Mr. Faryna comes across as a supplier to reseller situation, the decorum and ethics of Mr. Schwarz's complaints are questionable.

I mean, a consumer complaining would be tolerable, but after looking at Mr. Schwarz's record at ebay, it is my strong impression that he is a profit motivated individual. As a business person, being at all professional implies to me that you maintain a good public relations, keep your non-public business deals in their appropriate place, and be able to eat small losses without losing your wig over it.

Give me a break here. Ron Schwarz does not look very good to me here, regardless of his reputation. In fact, his posts in relation to Mr. Faryna's indicate who is skilled at public relations and decorum, and who is not. Ron makes it look like he is trying to destroy Stan. Ron's obvious emotional responses betray his attempt to look factual and convincing, and indicate either a newbie or someone you would want to be careful doing business with regardless of their Ebay results.

I am glad that a larger percentage of the business people I deal with on a day to day basis are not this petty or vindictive. Ron seems to give a bad name to business by his poorly thought out campaign. I realy think that his he should have keep his business problems private in this case, or does he expect everyone in this forum to feel sorry for him for making a profit off of people?

Regardless of the details of the deal, Stan has certainly responded in a very professional way and he gets a lot of credit in light of the rediculous ranting Ron has been doing. Who would you rather do business with here?

Yeah, I feel sorry for IBM when their stocks go down or they lose market share ... lol!

-- Business is Business (decorum@actlikeit.com), December 24, 1999.

Hey, sock puppet -- your pal Stan is the one who dragged my name into this, and I'm the one defending it.

You have a problem with that?

Tough luck.

He first started it by firing a pack of lies in my direction, without mentioning my name. I then, without mentioning my name, countered his lies. He then -- acting like a trapped rat -- decided to violate my trust -- and violate his word -- by naming my name.

I then -- using my name -- continued to defend against his repeated slanderous attacks ON my name.

You have a problem with THAT?

Tough luck.

I don't see you exactly standing up for YOUR name. Gee, I wonder what your name might be.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

This expose' is all quite interesting. Sort of a "truth finally comes out" kinda thing. I have no doubt that Vendors, and shills for vendors, are all over the place here on TB2000. None of this should come as a surprise to those who have followed other Y2k forums though. Debunkers figured this out months and months ago. They even spelled out exactly how it's being done. The ease of posting under multiple anonymous handles makes this place a prime target for those who sell (and encourage) fear for profit. Selling "prep-supplies" is only the tip of the money-making iceberg. Via e-mail lists, via www link "referrals" and via a hundred other "hidden" ways, many many people have been duped into helping put money in the pockets of these folks.

If you doubt any of that is true, not only does it show how naive you are, but it also proves you made a good target. Schwarz is only one of dozens of contributors here who you probably had no idea was selling y2k "stuff". I can pretty much guess who a few others are. Can you?

-- CD (not@here.com), December 24, 1999.

It shouldn't be any surprise that sold grain mills, as I listed them here once a week or so until the policy allowing that changed, at which point I ceased.

My only grain mill oriented dealings here were with Stan, where I offered him one dozen at a severe discount, with terms that he agreed to.

The fact that I would have been better off selling them on eBay was something that I knew all along, told *him* from the very start, and should have been obvious to anyone who though about it for more than one second. They sold like hotcakes on eBay. I *chose* to offer them to *him* -- in the full knowledge that it would COST ME money via lost opportunity, for ONE reason: I believed he was sincere, honest, and trustworthy, and would get them in the hands of folks who would not otherwise be able to obtain them. Was I going to make "a hundred dollars" on them? It would have been $103 or thereabouts, after factoring in the *free* mill *he* was getting. Considering what I would have received had I not had them tied up due to *his* games, I'd say that's moot. I'd also say "so what"? Like I said earlier, we bought an Aladdin from him. We never kidded ourselves that we were getting it at cost. We got it because we *wanted* it. Did his vendor make money on the deal? Provide me with evidence that he *didn't*, and I'll stop assuming that he did. Of course, at the price we paid, *someone* would have had to work overtime at *not* making something on the deal. But I guess I'm strange in that I don't *mind* the other guy making something on the deal.

As to Stan and the Sock Puppets, all I can say is that when my trust is violated, I accept that I've learned a continuing lesson in human nature. Keep attacking me, keep slandering me, keep spewing lies, and see what it gets you.

All *I* have said is the truth, and I've got the emails and the phone bills to prove it. I'm *sore* tempted to put up a website containing *all* the dirty laundry.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

OK, OK, you win.

I've been outted.

It's obvious how cwafty I was, offering to sell them to Stan for $17, instead of on eBay for $35-$65. Yes, I would have made out like a bandit alright, yup yup. Color me greedy!

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

Whups! Make that "for $27".

Ultimately, of course, after he yanked me around for several weeks, and left me no alternative but to recover my losses *by* selling them on eBay, I did in fact *tell* him how to buy them for $17, knowing that I'd make exactly *zero* on it.

I had *hoped* that I'd then see him post something to the effect that he was able to obtain the mills at an even better price, and was going to pass the savings on to the purchasers, but I guess I learned *another* lesson.

C'est la merde...

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

To anyone who has been around the Y2K scene for awhile, this temper tantrum of Ron's comes as no surprise. He has been on other Y2K forums and has usually managed to seriously piss people off on them before being run out of town.

-- Ronald Black (Ron Black@profit.from.Y2K), December 24, 1999.

In all honesty, Ron has always struck me as an arrogant blowhard.

With that in mind, it is plainly clear that Stan was the first to start this whole argument. It was also Stan who went ahead and mentioned Ron's name. Those facts are undeniable.

I don't know anything about the rest of the argument, but it's clear that Stan is not being quite as forthright as he would appear. ..

-- (duh@duh.duh), December 24, 1999.

Guy, I only know Mr Faryna, from chatting with him. I've not gotten involved with any of the co-operative purchases, so anything I could say in favor of Stan would have to be taken with a grain of salt.

However, I have done some buying and selling on eBay, and I've been screwed more than once, by people with feedback ratings WAYYYYY over 114. The highest rating for a dealer that did not operate with me in good faith was around 500, and for a bad buyer, the rating was over a thousand.

This doesn't prove that Mr. Schwartz is in the wrong, but neither does a feedback rating of 114 prove he was in the right.

By the way, to all parties involved: Enough dirt has been aired on both sides now, so I think it's time to take up Meg's request to take this all private. I doubt that either side will ever be able to prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the other side was the scoundrel, so what's to be gained by the continued public floggings? To continue this in public is just going to suck more and more people into it and create hostilities at a time when most folks have enough tension, in their lives.

-- Bokonon (bok0non@my-Deja.com), December 24, 1999.

Stan has always been more than a gentleman on this forum and has more than dealt squarely with me. I know nothing about Ron, but I don't find his complaining here to be very seemly--and while I did see Stan's grain mill post, your name wasn't mentioned, Ron. This attack on Stan is uncalled for.

-- Mara (MaraWayne@aol.com), December 24, 1999.

Boko: There are NO negatives in my feedback file. NONE.

Mara: Please do not mistake a DEFENSE for an ATTACK. Stan fired the first shots -- at ME. Stan violated a trust. Stan lied. Stan slandered my wife and me. Stan dragged our names through the mud.

To assert that my refusal to allow these lies to stand -- without saying a word -- is to be construed as an "attack" on someone who *himself* attacked *me* -- is nothing less than absurd.

Go read the other thread.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 24, 1999.

Oh gawd puh-leaze don't make me read another thread of this stuff.

Don't make me pull this car over and give you both a spanking!!

I know nothing about Ron, but I don't find his complaining here to be very seemly--and while I did see Stan's grain mill post, your name wasn't mentioned, Ron.

Huh? It was mentioned right here:

Ron and Susan Schwarz, Since you have decided to mix truth with fiction, I think it is only appropriate that we all know who you and your wife are.

Read it for yourself. .

I hate to say I told you so....but.....

BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHA, ok so I don't hate it, I LOVE it!

--------------------------
Give me a break. How long does it take to get a months worth of food from Costco, for a family of 4? 2 hours??? maybe 3? If you are new to y2k, you are better of going and buying some bulk items yourself and not listening to the nonsense on this board, put out by extremists. They start out sounding rational, but will slowly guide you to y2k vendors to buy overpriced items, that you don't really need.

Use common sense and ignore people infected with Millenial Madness
