Art Bell tonight - David Borgenicht tells about surviving a worst case scenario with a sense of humor

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I haven't heard this guy or read his book, but supposedly he talks about survival skills with a twist of humor. On Art Bell tonight, Thursday at 10pm Pacific.

He is going to be on at 11:00, despite what "A" posted on a different thread about a program change. Most Art Bell fans already know that the main guest doesn't start until 11:00, sorry I forgot to mention that.

Cool!

I'm trying to keep a sense of humor about the TEOTWAWKI possibilities, but I'm going to be really peevish and impossible to live with if I don't get to keep doing my Cydonia research.

I have read this book. It is a very interesting compendium of response to mostly very unlikely situations. Still worth reading however. Most of the 'solutions' are simple, which is a mark of quality I suppose. For example: to get out of quicksand, don't struggle, lie on your back, support your back with your hiking stick (ah ha, didn't know you'd need one of those THOSE when you are out walking in quicksand did you ?), and 'swim' out on your back.

They are all 1 or 2 page quick answers of this type. The best was how to jump into water of unknown depth (hint: feet first), how to jump into a dumpster (hint: it better be filled with cardboard boxes), and a few others.

The show didn't have much to say about Y2K survival, but as Count pointed out, more general what to do in weird situations kind of stuff.

Downstreamer, I din't point it out, but that picture is not David, but is actually Art Bell posing as the Millennium Master Antichrist. :-)

Then its really cool.

Lol, yeah, that is one of his finer moments! Art is really cool when he lightens up, but that is hard for him to do with the number of people who are out to get him. Curtis Sliwah would have a field day with this picture.
