The British government has revealed that garrisons
of men from the British Army can deploy within 10
minutes to most major towns and cities across the
UK if any Y2K problems occur.

According to today's Daily Telegraph newspaper,
while the British Army can be deployed to handle
any civilian matter in the UK at the instruction
of the Home Office, this is a rare event. The last
time they were deployed during peacetime was during
