What's going on with A T & T?

.....Got my December phone bill, and there were no long distance calls billed out. In August, I had LD calls from May, and in October, I had some from August. This month there was an indiscript charge of $3.27 and a credit for the same amount, with no explanation.

.....Anyone else see any similar goings-on?

I thought not much about all this until my phone bill came in and, gulp, there were no LD charges on it.

It's happening. And they are keeping it totally quiet. This must be costing them a fortune and some sleepless nights.

Everything is, "OK", though, fella, don't you worry none.

Patrick, Today my wife said to me... "We haven't received our AT&T bill for a couple of months" It went right over my head til I saw this post! And I'm the one who has been watching for this type of thing....Looks like the mass confusion is about to begin.

Same deal.Called ATT and they said they only bill long distance charges every three months now if charges are under $30.00.

Same here. Aug. & Sept. bills had no LD charges, Oct. bill had Aug. - Oct. charges. 2 sons married this summer (out-of-state) so had MANY LD calls made all summer. Nov. & Dec. bills were normal in that LD charges were on bills. Can't wait to see what Jan. bill will bring. LOL

Anything from Sprint,MCI,ect...?

ATT is also sending a letter out saying that as of December 1999 a minimum charge of 3.00 dollars will be applied for each month. They say it is for account maintenance and customer service.

If you use almost 3.00 dollars, they will bill you the balance to even it up to 3.00.

If you use 3.00 dollars or more a month, then this usage minimum charge won't affect you.....

FWIW - My ATT bill dated Nov. 26 has a credit for $3.09. No reason given. Didn't really notice till ya'll brought it up.

Don't have At&T but another local TINY provider. LD calls are always on my bill. HOWEVER, since MAY I have had NO International LD calls on there.

I call about 1-3 times a week oversees. Hope they really DO have the low rates they advertised. Cause if they present me with a bill for one year I will be in deep doo doo....

This is all very strange!

My local phone provider is GTE, and the LD carrier is AT&T. The GTE bill contains the AT&T charges.

My bill is normal (all calls are listed with time and amounts, with total charges based on the "one rate" and other plans for the various phone lines).

I'm expecting companies to cut their own throats to avoid revealing any errors (Y2K or otherwise!) for the next few months, until there's enough leaked stories that they can start blaming each other in earnest.

THEN we'll start to get the bills for their Fix On Fail "strategies".

Went over our ATT bill last night. There were 2 charges on this bill that were not on the last. One was a 'Carrier Line Charge' for $4.53 and another in the same section for $3.75 (for a total of $8.28). I talked to another LD carrier and they said the 'Carrier Line Charge' was a new federal thing, but it was supposed to be only $0.53. I havent' called ATT about it (the bill gave another 800 number other than their normal Customer Service #), the guy I talked to said to expect a busy signal. Check your bills and get in line....

I'm receiving my bill from Pacific Bell without fail. I think Pacbell would send its employees out on bikes if that is what it took to deliver those bills. It's quiet. PR knows the crowd is too dangerous to announce, "Have no fear, you will all receive your bills without fail!"
