Major Insurance Agency Software Vendor Still Patching At The 11th Hour

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Thought you might be interested to know that Applied Systems, a major player in insurance agency management software, is still cranking out Y2K software patches this late in the game. A bug recently discovered in The Agency Manager Ver. 6.0.3 software's ability to accurately handle a comparative processing date is but the latest example. Their response by FAX: "We are aware of the problem and are working on it!"

Is there any wonder that many of their clients are concerned about the condition of their agency general ledger as processed by this software when it's time for month-ed, January 31, 2000.

Gee, I wonder if this has any connection to insurers reminding their clients that they aren't covered for Y2K because it's a "forseeable event"?

Thanks for the post.

Excuse me. I omitted the "n" in "month-end".
