What is the cost of the RTA portion of our tab fees? I thought it was a flat fee of around 15 dollars, but my father-in-law thinks it is based on the value of the vehicle. I thought thats what was done away with with the passage of I-695.

Your father-in-law wins. according to a seattle times article just a few days ago the RTA is based exactly like the excise tax was, but at a lower rate, at least for now. But if you live in King and I think four other counties there IS an additoinal $15 charge ontop of the RTA etc that is ALSO charged TIME TO WORK ON THAT TOO
