Time to add "snodgrass" to the ban list

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

He's dropping more and more of his tax protester sh*t into random threads. He's given up on even trying to create a *semblance* of context -- he simply goes on his bombing run, cries out "Open Sphincter One!" and lets 'er rip.

He's even doing it on the *preparation* forum. A short thread on the topic of preventing food poisoning is completely dominated by ONE of his massive spams.

Please put a stop to what has become a DOS attack of a different flavor.

Motion carried. All in favor say "I". III! (Votes for me, myself and I of course ***grin***)

Ron -- Have cleaned prep forum. If it continues, we'll inform their ISP.

When the Nazis arrested the Communists, I said nothing; after all, I was not a Communist. When they locked up the Social Democrats,

I said nothing; after all, I was not a Social Democrat.

When they arrested the trade unionists,

I said nothing; after all, I was not a trade unionist.

When they arrested the Jews,

I said nothing; after all, I was not a Jew.

When they arrested me, there was no longer anyone who could protest.

>> When the Nazis arrested the Communists, I said nothing.... <<

Get back to us when someone is arrested and this may be relevant.

Sorru, I gorget who I am talking to. All good points somehow get lost on you people in the interim between me posting them and you reading them. I suspect the problem lies in the thought processing centers of your brains.

Point being, you want to continue to make a "ban list" or just deal with the fact that people are different? Your little forum is in no danger of crashing from DOS attacks... So what gives? Why such little tolerance for a variety of views around these parts of the information superhighway?

Ooh, fat fingers. "Sorry, I forget..." is how it was supposed to read.

Please delete trolls and other timewasters.

We are heading towards a critical phase and cannot afford to humor these morons. Lives will soon be at stake. This is not a drill.

Thank you for proving how "determined" you are to be right, and to make sure you don't waste any time with anyone who doesn't think like you.

>> Why such little tolerance for a variety of views... <<

The first time this boilerplate was posted, it was not deleted. Nor the second time, nor the third. By the eighth or ninth time snodgrass dropped it into a thread where it had no relevenace, it was beyond annoyance well over the border into obnoxious and worthless.

Under the circumstances, I don't think any claim that my objection is based on the *point of view* expressed has even a tiny bit of validity.

Imagine every time you meet any person, you launched into a long harangue, repeating it word-for-word every time. Some strangers you met only once might think it was worthwhile giving you their attention. Your wife would divorce you before you hit the 100th iteration. Later, you complain to everyone you meet that your wife just didn't value your point of view.

Dear Spammer(s): Shut Up.

BigDog: Thankya thankya thankya vurrymuch.

This is a Y2K forum, as in Year 2000. It is not a tax protest forum nor a comparative religions forum. It should be limited to issues and information related in some realistic way to Y2K.

-- cody (cody@y2ksurvive.com), December 20, 1999.

Hey, as we head into the new year, and actual y2k computer problems leak out (or blow up), we may end up wanting to create a category just for "IRS".

Ask Phil G. if it's possible to create a sub-category, 'cause we'll sure need one for the anti-IRS spammers if they see a heading named "IRS".

Fun, fun, fun.
