signs

Going back to a previous post concerning signs on the interstate, I too have noticed these DOT signs in the same configuration as stated. Road work, 2 mile, 1 mile, 2000 ft., 1500 ft., 1000 ft., 500 ft. All of them at major interchanges.

I commute one hour, one way to work on the interstate in GA. Have done this over the past 4+ years. Most of the road work signs I have seen were of the portable kind setting on the sides of the road. Have not seen this type (permanent) since I've been commuting. Most of these are on both sides of the road and on both sides of the interstate. Have seen road work at some of these exits and others do not have any activity at all. Where there is a major exit and no signs, there are stakes in the ground in the same patterns as before.

Any ideas?

The burlap covered stop signs installed at major intersections that already have traffic signals in Troy, Michigan are just as puzzling. At a Chistmas Party last night, a friend was ranting about how Y2K has been fixed, and how "doomers" are fools (I, at 2-3 on a scale of 10, am considered a "doomer" among my friends!).

My friend owns a business in Troy, Michigan. Later he was ranting about the new "Y2K" stop signs were a complete waste of the taxpayers' (his) money. Never conceded the stop signs were installed because the city was not sure their traffic lights would work properly ... and there are thousands of other "not sures" out there.

You must kidding. Tell me you are kidding. You cannot possibly believe that road construction signs have something to do with Y2K. And pollies are considered morons. I'll take my chances with those outside of bunkers.

Richard - DGI's do not understand the 1-10 scale. Anyone who is not a "0" on our scale is a doomer to them. It will be interesting to see what label "doomers" are given after the excitement is over. If it's bad, GI's will be relabelled "futurists", perhaps, and if it turns out a 2-3 maybe we'll stay "doomers". If it's bad, it'll probably be like France after WWII - even the collaborators claimed to have been heroes in the Resistance. All the DGI's will claim they were GI all along ...

As additional material, there is a post on Gary North's site (rumor, but easily verifiable) about signs and gates on interstates in the Chesapeake, VA area. They have the covered stop signs, and the source of the rumor claims that gates have been installed at the on-ramps to the interstate with covered signs. Supposedly, the source's spouse saw some that were uncovered that read "Do Not Enter" and "Road Closed". I have also seen the covered stop signs in the Boston area, though no highway closure signs yet. FWIW

BW,

What will doomers be called after the fact if it goes bad ? "FUGITIVES".

BW,

What will doomers be called after the fact if it goes bad ? "FUGITIVES". It may well be that anyone who was prior considered a doomer will be sought after for contributing the any collapse that may happen. If you're a doomer you may be rounded up for questioning. Just maybe...

Sorry for the double-post. I have NO IDEA what the heck happened.

I do not wish to imply that these road signs and their placement has anything to do with the rumor mill of martial law, et al.

What I am doing is passing information along to anyone who is willing to read it FWIW. I have been lurking around this forum for a relatively short period of time and the one thing that I like about it is that most of the posters are intelligent, concerned, and have a great sense of community. Alot of information that would not be available any where else.

But just like anyone with some form of intelligence gathering background will tell you, it is the small pieces of the puzzle that will eventually give you a whole picture. Do not discount anything until it is proven otherwise.

I have not these signs 'planted' at any other time in my travels as I have now. Most of the time road work signs are on tri-pods, portable, mobile. Even when some of the interstates were widened from two tto three lanes, the signs were mobile.

These signs are on one side of Route 17, (interstate highway crossing the tip of PA near Lake Erie, and then crossing Southern New York State) at a bridge crossing Chautauqua Lake. They are only on one side of the highway, on one side of the bridge.

They are covered with plastic and wire, and we thought they related to some construction being done on the bridge earlier in the fall. It is important to be vigilant, but we must not be like little old ladies, seeing a rapist under every bed!

just a meek little old housemouse who never misses a day lurking here, and who wishes to run with the big guys on the board, but alas, the tiny mousefeet just can't keep up.
