Neither a Doomer nor Polly be, for Doomers....

the debate between the Ds and Ps centers primarily around who will be sorry when the date rolls over, or in essence, who will be more correct in their prognostications for the Event. while i cannot help but see the sense in preparing for disturbance whether one believes that CDC will be disruptive or not, the best way to approach the coming Event would be to FIND BENEFIT IN WHATEVER MAY ENSUE, be it catastrophic or minor. pinning one's hopes exclusively on one outcome or the other without preparing adequately for either seems a bit short-sighted and inflexible. being prepared entails being fully prepared, for weal or for woe. fin.

This is a big country. The elitists have to go somewhere. After Y2K they'll all go back to being Baptists and Systems Administrators, and people like the fat guy that owns the comic book store on the Simpsons.

Lord knows we can't have constructive criticism or altruism or intellegent discourse when BEING RIGHT is at stake...

I never bought into the "I'm right and you're wrong," issue. And I never really did GI why the polly's were so adamant about what someone else was doing or saying to get prepared. I've often wondered though why the polly's weren't yelling and screaming at politicians to change the tax system, or our military presence in foreign countries. I suppose they don't have anything else better to do and TB2000 is an easy target for their anger. I do have a few questions for the polly's: What's it to you that I have purchased toilet paper, and canned goods for an emergency? What is it to you that I have paid off debt. What is it to you that I go target practicing to sharpen my shooting skills. And, what is to you that I have become an educated person in the areas of finance, social science, human psychology, botany, chemistry, economics, government, etc.? I will say one thing, if you want to learn how to whine, piss and moan listen to a polly.

bardou, they are here because they are both fascinated and frightened. They don't have the courage to prepare, but they can't seem to leave the subject alone.

How many of the savage pollys in this forum will crack at the last minute and try and stock? Remember, even being DWGI makes you more clued than plain old DGIs who at least have ignorance as a defence.

I'm guessing, oh, gee, 100%. Regardless of whatever brave and defiant words they choose to type right now.
