***Probable reason you aren't told the truth***

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Headlines are that this is the biggest Christmas shopping season on record. DOW is holding with steady gains, NASDAQ is making miraculous records and investors are making millions by the truckloads. Our econmy looks better than it ever has, but with the looming threat of a market adjustment (depends on who you ask).

Uh huh. We know all of this. But how many of you stop to think about the news agaencies and how they fit into this ? C.N.N (communist News Network) is owned by Time Warner. Billions of dollars in investments around the globe in all types of other markets. How about all the others ? Most of the major news agaencies are in the same boat. Big parent companies with BIG investments in the markets.

What would happen IF the media started telling you that Y2K was going to be chock full of serious problems ? What would happen IF they told you the truth ? BAM ! People react and the market changes in anticipation. It gets erratic to the point it tumbles in chaos. These parent companies start taking major hits on investments and lose their butts. BAM !

I don't think for a minute that they are telling us everything. The dollar is too important at this time to screw it up. They are riding the big dog and are going to for as long as it breathes and I can't say I blame them. What would you do ?

If there was no connection to their investments, you can bet you would have heard a lot more. You can be guaranteed though that their dollar IS more important than your security. Wait and see what the headlines are on the 26th and 27th (***wink***). They are about a predictable lot now, aren't they ?

Rob, if it wouldn't start talk, I'd give you a big kiss, as I've been harping on what you've so aptly posted, for some time. Of course we're going to be kept "dumbed down" General Electric, Time Warner, Rupert Murdock and all the others can't afford to have "their" media spill the beans.

-- Richard (Astral-Acres@webtv.net), December 19, 1999.

When investors panic and sell off stocks, no amount of media propaganda will be able to halt their emotional fears. Then we all witness the Crash of the Millennium!

-- dinosaur (dinosaur@williams-net.com), December 19, 1999.

Gosh Richard ***blush***... LOL. I truly believe this is their modus operandi. And Willie is right in line too. DO NOT tell them the truth because our economy is cruising ! Let it alone for as long as we can and reap every dollar out there. We'll deal with the ramifications when we have to and right now, we don't have to. The simple truth lies in what all of them are doing. And it's kinda funny that what they are doing directly contadicts what they are saying. Greenspan is about to have a coronary over all this market stuff.

Yep,you're right Richard. It is indeed "their media". Sold out, bought up and traitorous.

I think it is all about money as well, but for a very different reason.

Funny thing on the alledged "biggest Christmas" though. 2-3 weeks back CNN predicted "biggest" with persons spending over $500. Now, I clearly remember in the early to mid 90's persons were spending way over $700, so the $500 figure clearly was not the "biggest" as CNN had reported. And it don't add up to didly if a week later workers die of cold and plagues!

Now, have we since passed the predicted $500? I don't know.

I also expect that some of TPTB may benefit from the chaos induced by persons not preparing, then suddenly being in an environment radically different then they had anticipated. They will be utterly helpless and completely dependent on charity.

Remember Kosky telling the San Fran reporter "friend" that in America businesses have the "freedom to fail"? I will never forget that; like Kruschev and the shoe, it's burned into my memory. How callous!

Anyway, this liberty of disclosing his inner thoughts without the realization that it would be printed tells us that he deliberately is withholding his perception of how bad it is, in an attempt to sabotage or take advantage of small to mid businesses.

When we look at the % employees and %GNP in these small to mid sized businesses, it is OBVIOUS that his nonchalance was not in regard to THIS nation's economy.

*****So, if Kosky isn't gonna profit by the positive performance of the US economy, but instead will profit by the decline of the US economy, then WHAT does that TELL us about HIS portfolio?*****

Rob, I meant kiss like in that French General thing, or the Hollywood movie stars, you know.

Anyway, were you aware that Brokaw, Jennings and Rather were all members of the Bilderberger group? And, they do attend the secret meetings, the last one I believe in Portugal?

Only adding this to prove your point, which for me doesn't need proving.

In polite circles, I think they would be called media whores.

I thought CNN was the Clinton News Network...

It's impossible to be willingly "dumbed-down". You do it of your own accord if it happens at all. If you search for the truth you'll be bound to find it. I think that you doomers just can't accept it when you do finally find it, and you dismiss it, and they say that these major companies are "lying". Maybe they are lying, but not everyone is, and if you bothered to realize that it's impossible to keep the truth from being told then you'd know that you're just "dumbing-down" yourselves in a reaction to what you don't want to hear. Deny it all you want, but read through the tons of messages to this board about the dissatisfaction in your lives and you can see that all this Y2K hype is just wishful thinking. And if there aren't any headlines on the 26th and 27th then you'll just say, "wait until you see the headlines on the 1st, and 2nd!"..., "it's coming any day now"... and so on, and so on.

Pitiful, jaded people you've all become.

Oh well, cest la vie.

PS: yeah, yeah, I'm just another "running-scared-polly" trying to convince myself that my perfect little life will continue on as normal... blah blah blah. That cliche is as old as the Y2K problem, and it doesn't carry any more weight to it now than it did a year ago. Face it, the truth is coming out, and people ("pollies") want to tell you what it is. Can you blame them? They have taken a ton of garbage from you alarmists recently. (And to the victor goes the spoils).

It's your own denial that keeps you from believing it.

Hi Rob and all!

Forgive my rusty fingers at keying into a discussion forum. I left another site because the moderator considered that the discussion of political manipulation of Y2K was somehow unrelated to how we should prepare for what lies ahead. I'll tell you folks, I fear the calculated (and perhaps even manipulated) use of the Y2K problem, more than the mechanical aspects of it. I have read too much about the C F R, and I don't have a lot of faith in human nature. Think about how we should prepared. Kossy has told us to prepare for 2-4 days. Why? Because people don't use their hunting rifles, etc. well when they are hungry. I know people have lots of faith in Americans fighting back tyranny with the millions of guns in private hands. But how many belong to people in large cities? How well wil they do if they and their families are starving? I really hope that I am wrong, but if I'm not, a whole lot of people should have done their Y2K preps., not just to protect against logic problems within computer driven mechanisms, but because of politics. There are those who believe that the only hope for the world is one world government. There has NEVER been a better opportunity for using a crisis to bring about a massive, global event. If the political movers do not act on conscience, then the money is very BIG for those who work with the "shadow government."

Oh well, felt good to get that off my chest again. We live in a time when people are so ignorant of the past... even recent past.... in which governments have been very oppresive. More people have died in this century at the hands of their governments than in all the wars of the ending century.

Thanks for talking about this issue. It is serious, far more so than many understand. And yes.... I do have some inside information... but it isn't necessary, just read the book.

I agree -- you cannot be "dumbed down" without your consent. The average person is no more human than a sheep or a cow. Wherever the flock/herd goes, they go. Whatever the flock/herd sniffs, they sniff. Given a choice between reading about Lenny di Caprio or reading about the pagan origins of Christmas, they'll read about Lenny. Given a choice between reading about Klinton's "come spot" and how the Federal Reserve is screwing them, they'll read about Monica's "deep throating" technique. And that's just the relatively intelligent ones who can actually read. The ones that can't read have no interest in learning, just complaining when reality kicks them in the butt.

Rant mode off, you'll be glad to know.

TRIVIA QUESTION:

Which top-line news anchor of today was the FIRST reporter on the scene where the supposed assassin, Oswald, was "found", when Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas in 1963?

ANSWER: DAN BLATHER. This courtesy of Chuck Harder of www.forthepeople.org . It burned into my memory instantly, even though it was about 4 years ago.

Think ol' DannyBoy will have some INTERESTING story to reveal on his deathbed, like Woodrow Wilson?

Any possibility that DAN'S rise to the top was not strictly a coincidence--a result of his "talent"?

-- profit of doom (doom@helltopay.ca), December 19, 1999.

Say prophet, what are you refering to concerning W. Wilson? That slipped by me, another example of losing recent history I guess.

-- long way to go but (learning@llthe.time), December 19, 1999.

Woodrow Wilson admitted on his deathbed that he betrayed the American people by signing the Federal Reserve Act into law. We are now paying the price of his misdeeds. Just look at the phony federal debt. It is unbeleivable, because we were the richest nation on Earth before the Federal Reserve Act. Most American Sheeple have no clue what a scam the Federal Reserve is! THAT IS WHERE ALL YOUR INCOME TAX MONEY GOES! If you don't believe, just look at every one of your checks you sent to the IRS. All of them have been endorsed for payment to the Federal Reserve Bank!!! WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

Rob,

Interesting post. General Electric is the parent company of CNBC. How much sad face news do you see on there in the morning? One day Maria Blabberomo is yelling about the Y2K meltdown. The next day they mussle her.

They have all the Wall Street slickster cheerleaders sitting with Mark Hanus every morning. The show is a joke.

"DOW is holding with steady gains"

Not for the last 7 months it hasn't
