"The Artist" (formerly "Prince") says Y2K not a bummer

Remember "1999" by "Prince"?

Just for "grins-n-giggles", I was watching "World Beat" on CNN (gag, gasp), and they had on what is left of "Prince" after years of sex and drugs. He now calls himself "The Artist", and looks *totally* 'wasted'.

He says folks who stash water & soup in their basements are going against the will of "the one", and are "already lost". He wrote 1999 years ago, worried about the chaos that the world was becoming - nothing to do with Y2K.

FYI

I will boogie to his music, but I think I'll pass on his advice on matters spiritual, sexual, financial or otherwise. BTW, I did attend a Prince concert back in 1988 in Richmond, VA, and it was Da Bomb. No warmup act, three hours of nonstop music. Definitely got my money's worth. But I think I'll listen to my own inner voices about Y2k.

He says that at the end of this year he is going to "retire" the song 1999 from his performances and recordings. His record company is thinking that in order to still sell the song, they could just change the name to "The song formerly known as 1999."

I prefer to refer to Prince as "The Artist Formerly Known As Talented".

Or. The artist never known as talented.

Changing your name to an unpronouncable symbol is NOT the act of an individual with both oars in the water. What more needs to be said?
