Will the Truth please stand up!

IF THIS HAS ALL BEEN HYPE AND OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE MONEY AND Y2K IS ESSENTIALLY IS A BIG HOAX AS ONE NEWLY PUBLISHED BOOK PURPORTS, THEN MY QUESTIONS HAVE TO BE; WHY DID THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION BEGIN WORKING ON THE PROBLEM NINE YEARS AGO, BEFORE THE PUBLIC OR MEDIA EVER HEARD ABOUT IT? WHY HAS THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT ACCORDING TO ALAN GREENSPAN SPEND THUS FAR IN EXCESS OF 8 BILLION DOLLARS IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM? WHY HAS IBM, AT&T, CHASE MANHATTAN BANK AND MOST OF THE OTHER FORTUNE 500 COMPANIES SPENT HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS ON THIS "HOAX"? WHY HAS THE MILITARY, THE UTILITY'S INDUSTRY, THE FINANCIAL COMMUNITY, ALL GOVERNMENT OFFICES, THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY ALL SPENT MILLIONS AND MILLIONS OF THEIR AND THE TAX PAYERS MONEY ON A NON EXISTENT PROBLEM. ARE ALL OF THESE LEADERS, MOVERS AND SHAKERS, INTELLECTUALLY ELITE ALSO DUPED? OR IS THE CONCLUSION TO BE REACHED THAT "OH, IT WAS A PROBLEM, WHICH IS WHY WE HAD TO USE YOUR TAX DOLLARS TO FIX IT, BUT NOW THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED AND IF YOU STILL BELIEVE IT IS A PROBLEM YOU'ER STUPID."

We're stupid and you can't figure out how to TURN OFF CAPS LOCK ?

Saying 'it is solved' without proof behind your claim , is very stuiped. Your risking alot by trusting what you hear in the media.

EEK~!

ssoder,

On this forum you will find a wide variety of opinion, ranging from "enough has been done that any disruptions will be mostly unnoticeable" to "It's the end of the world as we know it", and all points in between. What I don't think you'll find is anyone here saying that Y2K is a hoax. Good luck to you!

P.S. - Your posts would be easier to read without the caps.

As I interpret what Mr./Ms. ssoder said, s/he's using irony and actually believes there IS a problem.

How about it, ssoder?

Where are you on the 1-10 scale, and how much have you prepped?

Irony, yes! We do believe there will be problems and in some areas there are already problems. On a scale of one to 10 probably about a nine. And as the time clock counts down to Y2K it could go off the scale. We hope we're prepared enough, just 3 months.

I only made it through the top line before I got too irritated with the caps lock to read farther. Oh well, hope it wasn't important.

Merry Christmas,

Frank
