I waited 3 weeks, only to be politely informed by drugstore.com that they aren't supplying any prescriptions for Y2K "needs". Even though I had sent them valid MD signed prescriptions. Don't waste your time with this compan

how did they know it was for y2k? a prescription certainly doesn't say this right?

First of all, your punctuation sucks Y2OK. A period and comma ALWAYS goes inside the quotation marks. The disgusting grammar, punctuation, and structure our Y2OK children read is stunting their Y2OK minds. Read any newspaper or periodical and you will ACTUALLY see with your own Y2OK minds that I am correct. Of course my sneakers are Y2OK!

they knew it was for Y2K because they called the MD who wrote the prescription and asked him! Unfortunately, he told them the truth

And correct grammar means what? Does everyone have to be perfect in this? Just a thought? Does it matter if you can "discern the idea"? Rambling again. oops.

Whytwook, there is American and there is English. This is the www. Stuff your arrogance!

Dear Whytwokay-- Punctuation goes inside or outside the quotation mark depending on the country of origin. American English is punctuated differently from the Queen's English. As an American with an English mother, I grew up learning one set of rules for spelling, punctuation and world history and an entirely different set at home. Re the original posting: glad I got some meds earlier. This seems totally unfair treatment you are getting. Pam

"A period and comma ALWAYS goes inside the quotation marks". Not in England, you eight-ball.

You posted - There is American and there is English. What a stupid answer. We do not want our Y2OK kids to grow up illiterate. It has nothing to do with arrogance. It has to do with integrity and intelligence. Why on God's earth would I listen to an illiterate??? If someone wants to convey a message to me I would hope that he/she had some intelligence and skills. Don't bother to speak to the world if you can't do it correctly.

My brother posted a message to this group, unfortunatley he is one of you, and he was flamed big time. I don't believe there will be any problems but I am always open to an INTELLIGENT discussion.

Is it my fault that the English can't use American punctuation (Just Kidding)? :-) However, I see you are correct. I have an English magazine in front of me (one in which a photo I took was published - yeah, a Yank getting a photo in an English Mag) and see the period outside of the quotation marks. So, to all of those folks in the world who do not use the American way, I sincerely apologize for my mistake. Hey, this is great. We see how the rest of the world works. I figured that presidential candidate George Bush couldn't identify the leader of England was because WHO CARES. The only super power is the U.S. That my be dangerous; but true. I guess we had better listen and lightne up. It my be a small world. Come visit me.

JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY - does TIME, LOOK, NEWSWEEK (American mags) use British or American punctuation their European editions of their mags?

Whytookay,

You're an idiot.

cavscout@fixnet wrote - You're an idiot. Boy, That's an intelligent repsonse! You bring the web to new heights! If only everyone could respond as you do. And to what nationality do you claim to be from? Like Rush says: I could whip you with half my brain tied behind my back. In all honesty - why would you post such and "idiotic response" rather than making an intelligent reply. Oh. I know why. . . duh. . . And, regardless, WHY am I an idiot? Because I apologized? Because you can't respond intelligently, because . . .?

bob- Sorry to hear about your experience. It is shocking that your physician would pass on personal information about you in this way. We're not talking about a controlled substance, and what he did seems legally "iffy" at best. May I suggest your anger be channeled at both? The nerve...

My dear Why2ok, do you realize that there are people in this world with the IQ of a genius, who don't properly puntuate? I have to curtail the urge to correct some person's spelling now and then. And do you know why? IT'S RUDE.

It must be that they haye "Bob's"... I had a bad experience with them too. My Doc wrote me a 90 day scrip for my BP med, and drugstore.com filled the original in October no problem. When I went to refill it a couple weeks ago, they said it was to soon, and they would ship it Jan 15. I called and asked them if there was a legal reason they would not refill it a month early, and they said it was just their policy. Told them I was going out of town, and needed it before, but they said "tough". They were actually pretty rude about it. Wouldn't recomend them to anyone...
