Y2K is like a ROLLER COASTER....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I got an e-mail from a cyber-friend (Sort of a polly) who has made some effort at preparation. He came up with this analogy, and asked me to post it here for comment...

It is like being on a roller coaster. We are at the crest of the first hill and about to go over. Now, I don't know how scary the coaster is, but it is too late to decide you don't want to ride.

He (and I) welcome your comments on this.

Thanks in advance.

Yup. About all we can do is hang on...and pray a lot! And I don't even LIKE roller coasters...

I always hated riding the roller coaster. I'd always get off and puke. I never enjoyed it because I was always so terrified that I wouldn't open my eyes to look at anything. The last time I rode one I swore I was having a heart attack and that I'd never get on one again......and I haven't.

My son is 22 now and I don't have to ride the rides with him any more. However, this y2k ride is one we'll all take together.

This time......I'll keep my eyes open!!
