OT - Need testimonies of LL's chat room behavior, to include in a complaint to her ISP

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Diane Squire has been kind enough to provide me with info to lodge a formal complaint against LadyLogic, for her disruptive activities in the chat room. I need testimonies from individuals who have first hand experience with her activities there. Please keep it short and factual, as all of the testimony will be forwarded to AOL.

I feel it would be most impactful, if I had real e-mail addresses to send along with the complaint. If you have reservations about posting your real e-mail address, on a public forum, please e-mail me with the testimony.

Thank You,

Bokonon

Let it slide bro. Life is too short and one person just isn't worth this much time or attention. Christmas is coming and I fear it might be the last one we truly enjoy. Happiness and health to you and yours and everyone in this forum (on both sides) who has made an intellectually honest attempt to inform, enlighten and in many cases comfort.

As a former website editor I found out how difficult it is to ban someone from a website if they want to post. LadyLackingLogic makes annoying posts -- the best way to get rid of annoying posters like her is to ignore them -- no responses at all. Ignore LadyLackingLogic, assuming this is possible, and she'll eventually go away. Things could be worse. You could be her husband.

-- Richard Greene (Rgreene2@ford.com), December 16, 1999.

Diane,

Here come the internet police. It is not your place to censor anyone, let alone try to censor someone from the web. Ladylogic's vile behavior will colapse in on her in due time.

This ain't Nazi Germany babe, take a look at yourself.

-- Infidel (Barbarians@thegate.com), December 16, 1999.

If you think that will stop her behavior, you are wrong. It will only make it worse. She will find another way to harrass you.

I used to think she had guts and something to offer. WHOAAAAAAAAA I was wrong.

Let it go. I am the first to admit that I am not a saint and have made some stupid choices and comments. It's the anonimity of it all.

Peace on earth.

Bad idea. Bad, bad idea.

Once in a pro wrestling chat room she took her top off and admitted she was the daughter of Satan. she then killed a kitten and took a dump on Chuck Berry's face. This woman must be stopped. I am willing to go anywhere to testify against this insufferable gate crasher. If Squire's involved I'm there for her. Like her moniker though.

For you 'free speech on the Internet types', the Internet is a community. People have certain responsibilities to the community of which they wish to be a part. It is one thing to express one's opinion in the context of the community and another all together to deliberatly disrupt that community. It is infact the concept of community that defines the realm of acceptable behavior. If one chooses to violate the defacto rules community establishes, it should not surprise them if they are booted out of the community... It is not an issue of fair. It is an issue of whether or not one should be allowed to deliberatly spoil the pleasure of community participation for a significant portion of other participants.

JBD! Somehow we knew you'd show up near the CountDown ;^)

So is this a cross-trolling thing?

Somewhat on-topic: there is an old story about an exchange between Winston Churchill and an unnamed woman at a public function. She approached him and proclaimed that "if I were your wife, I'd put poison in your coffee!". He responded with, "Madam, if I were your husband, I would drink it.". So with LL's better half, presuming that A) she ever had one, B) he has not either run screaming out the door, or C) found some coffee (prepared as above) to escape her by an alternate method.

Actually Hon? Hons? Huns My plan was to return during the stock market crash. Whew that was scary. Go ahead, say I told you so. I deserve it. Loved your JoAnne effect. Guess I won't be chowing down on the family cat anytime soon.

Later, Have a Nice Day

MinnesotaSmith

WE're already off topic so what the hell topic are you somewhat on. I'm really trying to be nice here. I thought they burried that joke with Henny Youngman. Now that you've dug it up maybe it's not too late to bury it with Joey Adams.

Have a Nice Day

Community rules:

In 1938 the Nazi's decided that the Jews didn't fit into the community. Who do you think you are deciding the community rules.

Same old story, either live by my values or don't live. Because my values are more moral than yours. Right!

The community rules were already established over 200 years ago. You may want to do some research. If you want to make this a private site, then do it.

Right now, I prefer Ladylogics post's to yours.

Cheers,

Right now, I prefer Ladylogics post's to yours.

Then go to debunkers where you can read them, jerk.

Brett,

Good comeback there Brett. I've never even read Ladylogic. But I have more respect for her than self righteous clowns like you.

You wouldn't know the difference between right and wrong if it bit you on the ass. Now go to church.

-- Infidel (Barbarians@thegate.com), December 16, 1999.

LadyLogic, under that name and several other "lady" names, continued to scroll the page in the chat room last night for upwards of four hours. She used foul language and drove everyone who wanted to have legitimate chats from the room. It's the fifth or sixth time I've seen her do this in the past two weeks. I would be happy to be included in your complaint.

-- kritter (kritter@adelphia.net), December 16, 1999.

Is JBD LL???

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), December 16, 1999.

Ladylogic,

Tell me, what exactly are you doing that's driving these people up the wall.

Are you an obnoxious nut?

Do you have an axe to grind?

I can not put up with censorship, so tell me, what are you doing and why?

-- Infidel (Barbarians@thegate.com), December 16, 1999.

Lady, how do you know how many hours she spends in the chat room? If you know how many hours then that means you spend the same amount of time in there clocking her. Don't you have something else better to do? What business is it of your how anyone spends their time and for how long?

What? All of a sudden you've become an "all saint" and you want someone to spend time with their children? Like your some kind of roll model with your filthy mouth? You have no room to talk dear lady, not one single person in the chat room or even here wishes your presence. If anyone is plotting your demise, it's you and you're digging yourself deeper and deeper into a pit, which is where you belong.

One more thing about cybersex, you seem to do your fair share of discussing sex graphically in the chat room. What about all the men you have contacted on this forum, mailed them pictures of yourself and talked sexual with them? Hmmmmmm? Get lost!

-- adlezzz (adlezzz@adlezzz.xcom), December 16, 1999.

They have been using my name, (and I suspect Mr. Decker's also) plotting my demise there, and on this board, cussing like sewer-born rats at me, and making my internet life rotten in general.

Poor baby. Like anyone here gives a crap what happens to you. Get a life, you stupid worthless polly.

JIMMY,

It's been YEARS since I laughed that hard! Ouch!

Re: complaint:

Is Diane sure of her posts? LL said some were fake. If Diane can verify which posts were hers, then I suggest writing the complaint but sitting on it for now.

LL clearly has alot of "issues" so no need to kick someone who's down, unless she starts pissing ME off again. My guess is she came back under a psuedonym and is behaving.

When I analyze the identity shifts and immature raves I see Glen Close in "Fatal Attraction". So we are her fatal attraction, feel flattered and hide the rabbit already.

From: Y2K, ` la Carte by Dancr (pic), near Monterey, California

I have not been present at Bok's webchat when she has been disruptive, so I can't help you out, there. The most effective complaints are those lodged by several people. If you're going to serve as a collection point for complaints, then these should be presented to the service as being from the administrator of the site... the injured party, and the reports as complaints to you from people trying to use your webchat. This would be better than an approach such as "I heard she did this, and I heard she did that."

It works best if you can point to specific instances in which she has clearly violated the law or the rules of her service. In that light, I'm enclosing an exerpt from the AOL Terms of Service [TOS]:

Online conduct should be guided by common sense and basic etiquette. You will be considered in violation of the Terms of Service if you (or others using your account) do any of the following:

* Post, transmit, promote, or distribute content that is illegal.

* Harass, threaten, embarrass, or do anything else to another member that is unwanted. This means: don't say bad things about them, don't keep sending them unwanted Instant Message(TM) notes, don't attack their race, heritage, etc. If you disagree with someone, respond to the subject, not the person.

* Transmit or facilitate distribution of content that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, vulgar, sexually explicit, or in a reasonable person's view, objectionable. Community standards may vary, but there is no place on the service where hate speech is tolerated.

* Disrupt the flow of chat in chat rooms with vulgar language, abusiveness, hitting the return key repeatedly or inputting large images so the screen goes by too fast to read, etc. This is online vandalism, and it ruins the experience for others.

* Pretend to be anyone whom you are not. You may not impersonate another member (including celebrities), an AOL employee, or a Community Leader.

* Attempt to get a password, other account information, or other private information from a member. Because a member's account is that person's online existence and persona, it is sacrosanct. Remember: AOL employees will NEVER ask for your password. Don't give your password or billing information out to anyone.

Obey the rules wherever you are. This includes the rules of other interactive services, AOL area guidelines, state, local, federal laws, or foreign or international law where appropriate. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. "Netiquette" is used all over the Internet. Whether you are on AOL or using other Internet functions, it's important to be polite. Many newsgroups, Web communities, and the like have their own community guidelines or standards, and you should consult them before interacting.

Remember that new AOL features or technologies are always subject to the Terms of Service.

-- Dancr (addy.available@my.webpage), December 17, 1999.

Oh, yes... and be sure to include the date and time (specifying what time zone), for each offence, so they can check their logs and confirm your claims. There's nothing to stop an offender from coming back with a new account from the same or another ISP, but unless you're dealing with Uncle Sam, eventually, they'll run out of money.

-- Dancr (addy.available@my.webpage), December 17, 1999.

[It is not your place to censor anyone]- Infidel

This isn't a free-speech issue. This would seem to be more of a hacking issue since endless power-scrolling disables a site if it is a chatroom. And Bok specifically said "chat-room behavior."

-- (resolved@this.point), December 17, 1999.

Dancr,

This AOL Rule is really a laugh!!! What hypocrites!! * Transmit or facilitate distribution of content that is harmful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive, vulgar, sexually explicit, or in a reasonable person's view, objectionable. Community standards may vary, but there is no place on the service where hate speech is tolerated.

You could find thousands of sites, chatrooms, along with email spamming and other garbage on AOL. That statement is the biggest joke I have ever seen.

Why don't you read through some of the threads at Yourdon.com if you wnat to see some vulgar, offensive language? I'm sure there is plenty.

-- (AOL@sucks.com), December 17, 1999.

Hokie, Diane posted all of her threads that came under LL and checked the ISP. There's no doubt about that LL is posting them and possibly with some help from someone who has been deleted from this board. This is not hard folks, we know where she lives and she can be dealt with by the authorities. The FBI is heavy into dealing with derranged people especially when they claim they are working closely with the police. I wouldn't be surprised if they already have a profile of LL in their files.
