(OT-ish?) Auld Lang TimeBomb Syne

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

As the days count down and the Time Bomb ticks, I can't help but look back nostalgically at this bb. Been reading it almost every day for about the last 19 months! What a trip. I've laughed, cringed, doubted, and learned a TON about Y2K. Would never have been as aware without your posts. Couldn't have prepped without all the advice herein. Thank you, everyone. It's been wonderful.

Now I'm asking: What are your favorite or most memorable TB2K bb highlights?

Here's just a start: Blue barrels, white busses, and black helicopters. Contrails. Sewage spills and Koskinen quotes (same thing). Navy papers. Congressional reports. Bug-out bags. Aladdin shortages. Walton backlogs. Mudwrestling. Bath soup. Old Git. Troll alerts. That Al guy. diEteR.

Today I confess to having visions of 'Ladylogic' being bonked by a disco ball.

Flora, her skull is so think I doubt if a ball could bonk her.

The Bean and related fuels for defense thread by Greybear.

The Got Beer thread by Spidey was fun too.

Gotta laugh in all this hard news, or we all go crazy.

Got Beano?

So many good ideas, both here and on the prep forum... A lot of rational thought...and some not so rational.

Thanks, Invar, I didn't think anyone remembered, or at least would admit to remembering.

Bagga, babe,

You mean I shoulda saved the receipt from the hard-hat too? Thanks for helping me cross that worry off my list, though I may have to agree with Boy George that it would be a glamorous way to go.

{Smack all your imaginary friends for me, hon}
