OT - humour in the Y2K workplace

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

As a Systems Analyst and Y2K Project Manager for a Credit Union in New Mexico, I spent many hours working with various users testing individual software packages for the Y2K Bug. On one occasion, after spending most of the day engrossed in testing a mortgage application, a conversation developed with the user. First she remarked that it appeared to take a lot of time and effort to resolve the problem. Then earnestly, wondered; "What'd they do last time?"

laugh,

What does it mean when you put "OT" in front of your post title?

Thanks

John:

OT means off-topic. Sometimes the sysops will put it there if deemed to be needed.

I just got back from our department Christmas party in which they read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" modified to be a Y2K poem. I was the lead player of course. Kind of funny; kind of odd.

heh, who was that congressman that said y2k was no big deal because it's just one digit change, whereas in 0999 they had to ad a whole new digit?
