Is Y2K remediation the world's biggest perpetuated scam? Not like it hasn't happened before....

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Some doubt we even went to the moon. I think this whole Y2K remediation effort is one BIG hoax. Its simply an illusion. Hard to believe, but that makes more sense to me than all the BS about 99.99999999999999999999999% readiness ad nauseum....

The illusion is that you can put down on the counter at 7-eleven the equivalent currency for 2 hours of labor, and purchase a days worth of food.

Delete this troll.....

Iceberg dead ahead....shall we stroll on the deck? Represents most of the world sadly it they're really serious ......

The Titanic sank on an ocean that was 99.9% free of icebergs....

To think y2k is a scam(conspiracy) is the ultimate in tinfoil. Even bigger than the Free-Mason's, because even the "normal" people AND the Gov's of the world are acting on it.

No, not a scam. It's a real problem with real solutions and 15 days left!

PJC, it's sarcasm.

bb,

ask any systems analyst who has converted an old manual system over to mainframe batch runs to explain the importance of it.

-- snooze button (alarmclock_2000@yahoo.com), December 16, 1999.

I think most of you missed bb's point. I read him to mean that they are all lying about the systems being remediated, yea, they worked on the problem but could not solve it. He does not mean that the Y2K problem is not real, but rather the fix is not real. I am glad bb and I have our 15 years of preps ready.

The iceberg is up ahead, full steam ahead. Life boats? what for? this ship will not sink.

-- chicken farmer (chicken-farmer@ y2k.farm), December 16, 1999.

Got one better than that. While ship scrapes past iceburg, partiers on deck reach out, with glasses in hand, hoping to cop some ice for their drinks, LOL.

Some days it seems that way, IMHO.

Should clarify. The reporting of possible Y2K readiness is one big scam. Thanks Chicken Farmer for reading between the lines....

>The Titanic sank on an ocean that was 99.9% free of icebergs....

Nearly 99.99% of the hull's surface area was not penetrated by the initial impact.

I also think this 99.9 remediation spew is nothing more than spin. Think about it people, when was the last time the government told you the truth about anything??? They have a vested interest in managing information and keeping Joe Sixpack stupid and complacent.

FWIW...I honestly do not believe we went to the Moon. Nothing but a huge theatrical scam played out in the vast deserts of the southwest USA. Even more important, it was an early (test) example of the feds using the Big Lie approach. Spread enough carefully constructed fertilizer around, get the media to buy into it, and you have manufactured news. The same thing is happening now with Y2K.

bb,

Sorry for the first comment. I'm getting tense..

-- PJC (paulchri@msn.com), December 16, 1999.

I think we are all tense, PJC...

Irving, if you dont think we 'went to the moon' you must be one of those, uh, whatda ya call it.....oh yeah, fucking moron.

Au contraire, the moon landing was perpetuated by **cking morons....

And then there is the problem with the Navigation avionics on board the 737...
