I am looking for information on Sports Psychology programs that area offered through distance learning. Would like to hear from anyone actively involved in any programs now. Would also like to hear any thoughts on difference between degree in sports psychology or counseling and value for career work in working with athletes.

Course Description: This course examines the application and effectiveness of psychological interventions for enhancing performance in sports. Major topics include: historical and contemporary foundations of sport psychology, psychological factors and peak performance, establishing commitment and self-control, mental imagery and performance, improving confidence and performance, building concentration, development and implementation of a psychological training program, effective communication, dealing with staleness and burnout, and the use of non-psychological ergogenic aids.

This course is being offered as a web-based (Internet) course. To apply for graduate admission and to enroll in this course visit www.fdu.edu/academic/uc/psych/sportpsych/.
