Value of Attwell Figurine made by Shelley

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Exchange: A Forum for Antiques and The Arts : One Thread

I am trying to find out the suggested price for a 'BooBoo' figurine made by the pottery company Shelley I presume in the 1930s. It shows a green gnome around a brownish yellow-dotted mushroom. It is signed Mabel Lucie Attwell at the base of the mushroom, and is coded L-A-11, with the word 'copyright'. It is about three inches tall.

The information I have so far is that there is a book entitled 'Collecting Shelley Porcelain' (or such similar title) that may have the information that I am looking for.

Thanks for any help. JP

What you might have is a "pixie" figurine by Mable Lucie Attwell, a child's piece. According to "Kovel's Antiques & Collectibles Price List" (1998, Three Rivers Press, Crown Publishers, New York, N.Y.) it could be worth around $525. Why don't you contact the National Shelley China Club, 5585 NW 164th Ave, Portland, ORE, 97229, about your piece? They are a good resource. Best to you.
