TO SYSOPS: Have We got Gov't Agents Trying To Stir Things Up Here at TB2000

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Hey everone and especially SYSOPS,

Remember the recent information coming out about the gov't Project called M-E-G-G-I-D-O (sic?) and crazy radicals that the FBI is monitoring? Maybe, I'm just getting paranoid, (I hope not) but I've noticed some threads being initiated here that just don't ring quite right. I'm referring to threads that just seem like a natural for an "agent provocateur" to post. It's like there is an attempt here of late to indelibly stamp this website as a radical forum made up of radical nutcases bent to do harm to the American people.

Case in point. The recent highly radical thread started by a "Lady Logic." This poster supposedly was a recent visitor/lurker to TB2000. She then seems to get quite active. I think she is the one who supposedly attended a local Y2K seminar where she and another poster to this forum supposedly grilled seminar speakers. She supposedly got it all on tape. That was a few weeks ago. Then this person posted an inflammatory thread the other day. Note the "handle" -- "Ladylogic46" at aol.com. This thread used some hotbutton words that reportedly are part of the "E-c-h-e-l-o-n" program the gov't is using to monitor crazy, radical groups. This poster made some rather outlandish and sweeping generalizations and applied them to folks at this forum. It was almost like baiting the forum. Then we find out that she has been a Y2K Seminar Speaker. And we thought she was just one of us. Maybe she's not. She may not even be a real person. Maybe she's various persons posing under a single identity? Who knows? Anything is possible on the internet. Here is the thread that I am referring to: OT: THIS IS WHY I THINK Y2K WILL NOT BE THE END OF THE WORLD.

http://greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=001xqb -- (Ladylogic46@aol.com), December 09, 1999

-- (Ladylogic@aol.com), December 09, 1999.

This poster then proceeded to post some erroneous information regarding oil followed up with some inflammatory comments like:

1. "The "people problem" will create a need for security for grocery stores, liquor stores, furniture stores, etc. (Think L.A. riots.)"

2. "In conclusion, the only thing Im going to worry about are the people in Y2K forums planning on bombing bridges, poisoning water, raping women, shooting people because of their skin color, religion, sexual preferences or because they mistook some poor schmuck who knocked on their door to tell them their cat is stuck up a tree, for someone who was going to steal their stash. Can I hear an amen to that!"

This posting resulted in a very active thread that brought everyone out of the woodwork to post a comment (or so it seemed).

NEXT CASE:

We find a "ladybuckeye_59" posting a rather bizarre thread about the Feds and militias. Note the poster is using a similar "handle" starting with "lady" and also a number in that email handle.

Feds Plan to Use Foreign Troops on Militias

http://greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=001ynX --(ladybuckeye_59@yahoo.com), December 11, 1999

Maybe it's all very innocent here and these are 2 different people who are NOT government plants. I just wonder if there has been anyone else noticing this or other behaviour that seems more like a gov't type agent or informant? Are any of you concerned or on alert for this as we are just days away from the CDC? I hope the SYSOPS are on alert for these types of folks and postings. SYSOPS, how about it?

Guess I'm just ...

I wouldn't be suprised at all that government are monitoring this site. They are not just looking for religous people, or just people that own guns and talk about overthrowing government. But when you put the two together, you have a dangerous combination. These people who believe that God is telling them that this is the time to bring about the Armageddon, and who also keep indicating that nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction are going to be used, are the ones they are keeping an eye on. They consider these types of people to be very dangerous, because some of the more unstable ones go over the edge and use weapons themselves in hope of fulfilling their delusions.

Pffft! My spouse is Buckeye and I'm Lady Buckeye -- guess what university we attended? -- but Yahoo said that Lady Buckeye was in use, so I added a '59. If I were a gov't plant, I can think of much better things to post to get people frothing at the mouth. (:

-- (ladybuckeye_59@yahoo.com), December 11, 1999.

The feds, if here, are here to protect MY freedom of speech, my freedom to make a complete ass outta myself, and my freedom to do so without risk of threat or penalty from trolls, heh.

-- Hokie (nn@va.com), December 11, 1999.

Ladybuckeye.......

Don't sweat it........there are enough Paranoid Doooooooomers here with immense imaginations that some of them are bound to think you're a govt. plant.

You haven't seen anything unless you've been here for the last couple of years. We used to have oodles of posts about secret govt. conspiracies, Bilderbergers, NWO, black helicopters, white vans, contrails, earthquakes, UFO's ad nauseum.........

One of my favorites was the poster who recommended we all buy small school buses and bury them in our back yards as they make great bunkers............

Knowing some of the extreme doomers are just a brick short of a load I suggested that it would be a good thing to first allow the kids off the schoolbus before burying it. You'd think that would be obvious, but well, look at some of the stuff they wrote and you can see that perhaps it wouldn't be so obvious to them.

Anyway, I expect we will have some Y2K problems and prudent preparation is wise. Unfortunately the Y2K awareness and prudent preparation people have been pretty much silenced by the the roar of the ultra-doomers who have hijacked the movement.

A bit like the average soccer fan who is given a bad name by the thugs and hooligans who spoil it for everyone really.

-- Craig (craig@ccinet.ab.ca), December 11, 1999.

Sheesh,

Of course they are watching this forum. They have been from the beginning. Their timing on positive spin articles is remarkable to say the least. Every time a forum topic starts to rev up, these dodos issue some spin press.

Don't think for a second that they don't know who you are either. Our electronic signitures are on pretty much everything here. When your connected, you can be found quite easily unless your using some type of e-obfuscation tool.

But to assume that the ladies are agents is a bit farfetched. Ladylogic sent me a picture of herself (why I'm not sure) but she certainly didn't appear to be an agent.

My vote would be Factfinder, Flint, doomerdebunkeridiot, and Y2K Pro for a few suggestions.

At this time, I'd like to give a special shout out to all the boys at NSA and Langley! Hope you guys catch all the real bad guys who most likely wouldn't even dream of "posting" here. I'm personally hoping you catch every freaking one of them.

As for the rest of you, get a grip. The govt. conspiracy crap doesn't really fly. No one gives a shit if you stockpile tuna and batteries til the cows come home. You're just not that important. The idea that HRT is gonna swoop down on your house to confiscate your beans is ludicrous at best. Don't get me wrong the authorities are gonna have thier hands totally full this new years eve and forward, I just think the administration is completely incompetent, not necessarily efficient enough to be that sinister.

-- Gordon (g_gecko_69@hotmail.com), December 11, 1999.

The idea that HRT is gonna swoop down on your house to confiscate your beans is ludicrous at best.

What?? You mean that we've been stocking all this dog food in vain? (:

[someone on another board suggested stock piling dog food because it was less likely to interest anyone after a GI's stores.]

Also, Thanks, Craig.

-- (ladybuckeye_59@yahoo.com), December 11, 1999.

I'm all with Gordon on this one, everyone who posts here could be found "in a heartbeat", don't worry about it. By the way, I made it a point to print out the LadyLogic (what a misnomer) post from the other evening (52 pages) darn, everyone had an opinion that night. My best to all of you. Michael

-- Michael (michaelteever@buffalo.com), December 11, 1999.

If you dont think there are about 20+ different levels of intentions on most Y2K forums by dot govs, dot mils, and dot coms, etc... including here... well... you havent been paying attention. (BTW, add reporters to that list too).

That said... of course everybody and their grandmother... serious (or not) about Y2K... monitors all kinds of stuff... in addition to this forum. So what?

My recommendations?

Create community... and prepare. And dont sweat the small stuff. (Remember: its all small stuff).

Diane

(And no... I dont see a connection between Lady Buckeye and LadyNotVeryLogical).

Gawd!!! I can swallow that there may be on-going monitoring of what goes on in this forum by the powers that be. But I am getting seriously perturbed with these constant innuendos about those of the polly persuasion. Even Hoffmeister, in a recent thread regarding the Deutsche bank's little Y2K oopsie, was blatantly accused of being a government stooge.

If Flint is supposed to be some kind of government plant, why does he divulge that he personally is prepared for the kind of disaster that Y2K could bring (though doesn't think will)? Decker has been active in local TB2000 group meetings, and has met with Stan Faryna socially, so I kind of doubt that he is some CIA operative that is PAID to post the crap that he does. Pollies like Cherri, Maria and Deano don't have the intelligence to be "Internet operatives" (especially Deano) -- I mean, gawd, surely if you were going to pay somebody to mislead and confuse, you would at least make sure that they had minimum smarts. You know, like knowing how to spell, put together coherent sentences, being able to at least APPEAR competent in the technical field they claim to know about. That kind of stuff.

Yours truly was recently accused of "going over to the polly camp", all because I think this chemtrail stuff is bull hockey. Seems to me that some people don't recognize that it is completely possible for someone to disagree purely because they really and truly think otherwise.

3 more weeks. Just 3 more weeks...

Sweet freakin" Hay Soose,

You really think with the roll over as close as it is that the "govt" has the time to hang around this pissant forum? My, don't we have a twisted concept of self importance? Please, go out and beg the nearest deity of your choice for a life.

Hey Lady! You got a thing for Gordie because he is a bigshot oil tycoon with the big bucks huh? You little goldigger! Come on, post your pic for all of us to see, I want to see what a girl that doesn't look like a government agent looks like!! Of course, ya never know, look at what some of the secret agents in the James Bond movies look like! Octopussy, Ms. Goodhead... Yowsa!! :-)

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), December 11, 1999.

Aw Hawk,

I'm not interesteded in Gordo, or his money. I make my own money. Besides, I am far more interested in a man with a gentle soul.

-- (Ladylogic@aol.com), December 11, 1999.

Hawk,

If you post a real email address Laura will send you a picture, too. She sends a picture (sometimes nude) to all the guys. Unfortuantely, it is not a picture of her. Remember, on the internet no one knows if you're a dog. Woof!

-- (UglyLady@fake.pic), December 11, 1999.

!Qui ojos verdes con celosidad!

And so unbecoming.

Uglady - Lol!!

Yeah, I see your point.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), December 11, 1999.

Agents? You betcha by gollie. Flint the pollie is an agent provacatur, How do I know for sure,His name for one,Def. figurative..anything hard or unyeilding: "The pollie had a heart of flint!" Do you need any further proof?

-- little polly perverse (cansmellone@100milesaway.com), December 11, 1999.

Gordo,

"Of course they are watching this forum. They have been from the beginning. Their timing on positive spin articles is remarkable to say the least. Every time a forum topic starts to rev up, these dodos issue some spin press. "

I'll second that. I've noticed that happen too many times for it be coincidence.

But I think the blade cuts both ways. It's very likely that over time TPTB have been sending up trial balloons here to see what peoples reactions would be. Too many negative/flame responses and its "well, I guess we won't be taking THAT route..."

-TECH32-

-- TECH32 (TECH32@NOMAIL.COM), December 11, 1999.

Isn't that a fact TECH32, after all, they are very bright indivuals, unfortunately, it's almost scripted that they have to watch out for there hindsides. Makes for a very interesting government/corporate life doesn't it. I hope that six months down the road, I can laugh hillariously at myself, for the way I think things are now.

Darn, this is my last post of the evening, I think I'm starting to depress myself. I think I will step out and enjoy the smiles and happiness that is available now for the taking, it would be silly not to. Bye all....

-- Michael (michaelteever@buffalo.com), December 11, 1999.

What Diane says about news reporters is true too. They come here to get their news information because we usually have it before anyone else does. Our combined efforts make one hell of an efficient research tool. I have seen them almost directly quote opinions posted here within a few hours after we post them.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), December 11, 1999.

The NSA monitors everything. They just don't read everything. Their big computers look for key words and tricky phrases. We shouldn't receive any attention after all you don't see words like oil, Saddam, NSA, militia's, or phrases like Clinton is a jerk in this forum. Ooops, carry on, the Chemtrails are back.

Craig, is just trying hanging around to buck for a promotion.

What if YOU are the government agent. Aaacks. Eee gads.

AWwww, You flatter me! (blush)

-- (Ladylogic@aol.com), December 11, 1999.

Nice hat LL! Can you suck a golf ball through that hose? Looks like you're all set for the anthrax attacks.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), December 12, 1999.

Please, you frightened doomers, just go to your bunkers. Personally, I love the fact that I am living in a unique moment in history. If it is going to be rough, ALL THE BETTER! I'm more afraid of living a long comfortable, non-eventful life, counting the years until retirement so I can play bridge twice a day until my heart or kidneys fail on me! Y2K will be studied foe hundreds of years. I prefer to among those considered to among the brave, not of the weak and scared.

-- for real (for@real.com), December 12, 1999.

Actually, if I were the government, I would 'plant' a doomer type. Most undercover work done by infiltration is of the same 'persuasion', is it not?

-- Dian (bdp@accessunited.com), December 12, 1999.

If they are not here monitoring against terroist activity, I'm not getting my monies wrth from the FBI/ATF and the Proejct Meggiddo - always forget how many dd and gg are in that....d**m, why they screw up even the title with something you can't spell. You realize that even the Echelon project becomes useless if the people they are monitoring can't spell....

I am very suspect any time specifc gun-running threads appear regularly.....maybe we can throw them off by mispelling as many words as possible.

Obviously, the most provactive way for a lurker/provactour to appear would be to appear innocent (at certain times), doomer (at others), and polly (at others) - if of course, you don't assume they'd just inent the a different handle each time.

Best would be to appear confusing, distracting, as a person who is not to be taken for granted at any time - therefore, I nominate DieTeR as resident investigator-in-chief. UNless he graduaated from the Seminoles' university: then he'd be the investi-chief-in-gators.....

They didn't strike me as a woman. The style of speech was just not quite right. For one thing, I have never known any woman or girl who would say: "...as a female, I..." If this is a woman, I'm betting some man advised her to say that.
