This guy needs his head shrunk. Yes, Y2K demonstrates very clearly a crisis in consciousness--i.e., individual mental flexibility versus a life-denying rigidity. Consciousness per se means being in tune with what is more or less (there are degrees) objectively real. I think what we have witnessed has been a general contraction away from what IS. This denial of simple, functional reality has been general and nearly complete on the part of this society. This alone can be taken as a measure of our world's viability or lack thereof. When an organism can no longer react appropriately to its environment, it's a goner. Too much intellectual blah blah blah in the face of crisis is truly not helpful and dismally inapt. Thus I characterize this analysis. Jungian imagery and approach should bring us closer to who and what we are, not further away.
