Dear Deluded, I am a doubter. I believe that those who are so gullible as to believe half of the crap which floats around here are more prone to take lives with their AK-47's and hand grenades than a computer glitch. You see, people--and the way they act--- are my livelihood. Having said that, it seems reasonable that you are alluding to a byproduct of y2k---anxiety, fear, overreaction and pardon the pun, drastic and armed response spurred by delusion. That delusion could come via the belief that civilization will crash due to computer failures or that the Lord is returning because he adheres to our conception of time. While both scenarios are doubtful, the response of those in the 'outer fringes' of society provide the wild card here.

If this is what your alluding to, count me in. If you are sticking strictly to computer problems, please pardon my laugh.

Bad Company's pissed-off attitude is the result of his fear that he's wrong about Y2K. Everyone that I know that thinks Y2K is not a big deal is either apathetic about it or amused by it, not pissed off at doomers. I get no hostile reactions from my true polly friends and relatives. I think Bad Company is really worried. Hey Bad Company, if you think it's such a little deal, why all of the hostility at this late date? You should be happy that everything's going so well. No panic, no problems, stock market's in good shape. Why all of the anger?

Perhaps you've seen one too many X-Files episode. 3. Your comment on the economic situation being an 8 is self-serving. Most Wall Street observers would laugh at you. I know. You know they are part of the conspiracy. 4. Klinton's escapades mark him as the most notorious pres in history. His authoring of bills that negate a balance of power is troubling. Coming from a family with a military history, your comments are understood, but your accusations make it clear to me that you have had little experience in this regard. Moreover, you'd probably be the first to turn and run while under fire, screaming that your CO is the problem. Stick to something you understand. Like comic books. It would do wonders for you to get a sniff of what your compatriots here are cooking. You want the idea of selling out and every man for himself? ask Diane to post the page. Then look and the mirror and do some soul searching about your own choices and heroes. True, the government doesn't work for you or me, but I'd submit you have a lot of opportunists here that would love to advance their own agendas here if they were given the slightest chance. Maybe you are in that category, too. Like Bob, you seem to feel that if I don't agree with you, I am somehow in bed with the enemy. I saw Troll Maria once. She is about 4'10" tall, with bowlegs, and hands that reach nearly to her knees. Her hands are huge, with short fat fingers that look like sausages about to split their too-tight casings. She has dark, stringy hair touching her ears and eyebrows (well, her single uni-brow, anyway) in a bowl cut. It was a little frightening when she smiled...her teeth are perfectly square and all the same size, like chiclets...only brown. But, the thing that scared me most (her body odor and the thick, matted armpit hair visible in her sleeveless blouse were merely repulsive, not frightening) was noticing, as she walked away (kind've trundled from side-to-side, really), that from behind she looked, for all the world, like a sack of puppies going to the river.
