I live in a community of approx. 14,000 in south central Kansas. In tonights paper (front page), the Police Chief gives a press release. The headline is as follows;

"Police order extra officers for New Year's Eve, just in case"

Chief "D", makes the statement that the County as well as City will have a full contingency of officers to handle "any Y2K related emergency". The fire department here also has contingency plans and will staff double crews until all is deemed safe.

My, my. Now if this doesn't give me a boost in the b*tt, nothing will. I am definitely glad I have spent the time and money to do what I think needs done because it is definitely being taken serious on the law enforcement level in this community.

Better hang on 'cause it's gonna get bumpy ! What a kicker.
