I'm Lactose intolerent, and need to take a dairy digestive supplement before I eat or drink dairy foods. I have stocked lots of pills. But if I run out is there any old remedy that might help?

Yea, stay away from milk.

I'm lactose intolerant, too. I DO stay away from milk. I drink rice milk. I love it, and it has the advantage of having a long shelf life without refrigeration. Soy milk's my second choice.

"Heaven On Earth" FAT FREE Milk Replacer

---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------

The dangers of drinking milk and related dairy products have been heavily documented. Were it not for the effective propaganda campaigns of the dairy lobby, this information would have been integrated into our educational school system long ago.

Milk, in particular, contains more than twenty-five different proteins that may induce allergic reactions in humans. Dairy products are connected to the development of a cancer of the immune system as a whole. The mutagenic activity of one enzyme in milk ("X.O.") has been linked to our society's high incidence of arteriosclerosis.

Because milk is high on the food chain, it contains inordinately high levels of pesticides and other agricultural chemicals -- so high, in fact, that the Environmental Defense Fund has advised "women who expect to breast feed their babies to avoid meat... and high-fat dairy products."

Dairy products are often contaminated with salmonella, staphylococci, E. coli and viruses that may cause leukemia. It is no wonder that the nutritional authority, Dr. John A. McDougall, refers to milk as "liquid meat." Because of the importance of avoiding dairy products, we are proud to introduce Heaven On Earth, a FAT FREE milk replacement dry mix that's delicious, inexpensive, and easy to use ("just add water"). In deference to our customer/friends in the diabetic community, Heaven On Earth now uses fructose as its sole sweetening agent. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS: Tofu extract, fructose, carob powder (carob version only), guar gum.

I don't have a link for you, but I read an article that discussed a method that was used successfully for lactose intolerant people. You buy the 'safe' kind of milk, and also regular milk. Start by putting a very very small amount of the regular milk into your special lactose free milk. Drink it that way for a few days, then slightly increase the regular milk, drink a few more days, and so on... By starting with extremely small amounts, and very gradually working up to full strength regular milk, the article claimed that the people were cured of being lactose intolerant.

Best wishes....
