Windows 95 Compliance

Kinda late in the game to be updating the operating system. Oh well, its not like anyone uses Windows 95.

Requested the previous upgrade disk at the beginning of October. Not received to date. Seems as if many of us are going to be in big trouble!

Microsoft is not the only software provider that is making late changes to operating systems...we received a letter from another about some problems that probably won't have PTFs out befor rollover!

Upgrade disk is a big no show here too. Wonder how close they're going to cut it?

I called MSFT on Dec 6 and was told the CD patches started shipping out that day.

There is one other Y2K fix not included in the year 2000 update package, the Microsoft Libraries Update 2.0. From the read-me:

"This update also addresses a Year 2000 issue which may cause some applications built with the Microsoft Foundation Classes to improperly handle dates that are greater than December 31, 1999. In addition, this update addresses an unrelated April 1, 2001 date- handling issue."

Both updates are available from:

Click on PRDUCT UPDATES to analyze your system for recommended updates. There are also several security updates that you may wish to consider, two of which were released on November 29.

Also: Office 97 users (I'm sure there's at least two or three of you out there) get your hands on the 2nd service release to correct some Y2K issues.
