Home Fuel Oil Delivery

Today I had my home fuel oil delivery and asked the driver whether there were any unusual delivery patterns. He said deliveries were normal and there was no evidence of stocking up (pc for hoarding). The sheeple sleep.

What part of the country are you in?

That's certainly not the situation at one of the larger propane dealers in the Eastern Nebraska area. They have installed lots of new tanks and are saying we just can't get to all of our customers towards the end of the month that want to be scheduled for the last couple of weeks of Dec.

My propane dealer says they have had literally thousands of requests to fill tanks before the first of the year. The driver said he doesn't think he will even have Christmas day off.

Thankful for the mild weather,

Per the Lurker in Chief, her former company had made the exec decision not to install any tanks after this past summer to guarantee coverage.

I work for a large company in the oil and gas retail sector. MOST companies have little or no real contingency plans. We had planned to push deliveries ahead for Y2k and found that we are not able to because it would push the staff to the limits of what DOT permits us. At several meetings I brought up Y2K ( this company and a previous one) I was basically look upon as a kook. I now say nothing as the phone calls pile up, and as prices rise, and as the compliance of our foriegn suppliers is questionable. I have a wood stove and propane to cook.

Hi all. A friend of mine that delivers fuel oil here in Michigan told me the other day that his boss said that when they run out of what they have that they will not be able to get anymore this month. I guess they've never heard that one before. It's a good size company and doing well. My friend was a borderline GI but appears to be getting in gear now. Maybe thats all he needed to hear( besides all my flappin). MJ

hey fatanddumb, i live here too!!! no sign of anything as usual. other than yesterdays contrails. :-) we are really fatanddumb in DC area.

Went to the price costco for a last minute purchase and spoke to a USPS person. she was nice, we got into the subject of y2k and she said "oh, i think we will be just fine in the US" and went on for a bit about why. so i expressed my doubts on that one and was just about to say she might want to put some things aside and she then said, "my husbands really concerned so we have a year's worth of supplies". thank goodness for GI husbands and wives who perservere.
