Public Is Not Paniciing or GI, better start changing the message Johnny..

So lemme explain this to you. By now, even traders ( a highly sceptical bunch to start with) had figured that people would be at least a little nervous by now. Demand would be up just a bit. But NO, the sheeple still sleep. It truly will be like the silence of the lambs for a while at the end of the year. Kosky, you guys need to start telling them to prepare. For God's sake get the freaking message going here. You guy's waited to long. Every day means the disconnect is going to be that much more severe. What the fu@#$ are you guys thinking?

\From today's Platt's for educational and research purps only:

WEST COAST: Gasoline prices fell as traders realized that estimates of increased demand because of Y2K panic at the retail station have been overstated for early to mid-December. "Traders are getting nervous because the demand they expected on the second cycle never happened and there are only two more cycles left," one trader said. "There seems to be lots of length because they

Not to worry. There will be plenty of panic in 1/2000. Furthermore, this gives us a leisurely opportunity to prepare ourselves

Okay Jay Leno, do what Johnny did a few years back with the TP shortage. Get on the TV and start cracking jokes about the coming gas shortage and rationing. Please leave the TP alone, I'm still buying it.

At this point in time, the only logical act remaining is for those in the know to go public with their stories.

Clearly the U.S. government doesn't care AT ALL about its citizens. Or else why did they FIGHT so hard to prevent individual preparations?

U.S. Corporations have done the same for their own self-interest.

But what in God's name can the ministers and rabbis use to excuse their lack of concern and good sense? And how can they excuse their failure to act to protect the innocent and the weak?

Have they no mercy? Or common sense?

Or are they only trying to protect their public image?

Gordo,

Wait for Tue's API stats. They'll reflect big time post T-Day stocking up (even bigger than the 4 previous reports/weeks). My jobber and trucker contacts indicate big backups at Midcontinent loading racks. I can't imagine what it'd be like if we had a good ol' Dec cold snap. The weather is mitigating the distillate demand and the refiners are definately cranking it out.

What are you hearing or expecting on Colonial & Explorer's back 34th? As your previous post indicated, there ought to be some excitement this week. To refresh memories, these will be the last scheduled refined products pipeline cycles, on two of the bigger pipes, that will deliver before the rollover. Any updates?

Downstreamer -

Of course it's not just 'actual usage' being impacted by mild weather.

Northern innesota was an unseasonally warm 32 F. this weekend. Much easier to be complacent when the weather is cooperating with the sanctioned spin in lulling one into complacency. Nothing like -20 to remind one how important being 'topped off' might be.

The only "logical thing" for us to do is to keep hammering away at our close friends and family to prep, and to otherwise just shut up.

The amount of food and goods now available before rollover is fixed. If there's not enough to go round, there's not enough to go round. When Joe Sixpack finally Gets It, the shelves will empty, and we'll be in a world of selfishness, violence, hatred and protectionism.

It's too late to fix it. All we can do is delay it. I'm going to enjoy my luxuries while I still can. Shhh. Shhhhhh.

What makes you think the rabbis and ministers GI? People are people. Most people choose their boundaries on what they can or cannot accept as reality, until reality destroys their boundaries. Then they react in extreme and unreasonable ways, because they refused to accept truth and position themselves to respond. Even if a spiritual leader GI's...what makes you think his congregation would follow? Some perhaps, but even a strong leader who goes against the grain of public perception will soon become an unpopular leader, and probably get ousted to boot.

Having said that, I basically understand and share your feelings. My gripe is with anyone who is in a position of responsibility, be it a minister, mayor, employer, or parent etc., that refuses to at least put in a substantial amount of time and effort to study, analyze and evaluate the information available, rather than just make a decision based on emotional comfort, disguising it as merely rationality and balance. The number one excuse is..."too busy". One sibling in-law just wrote to reassure me...they are planning 'a day' to shop at Costco next week.

Gordo, the oil answer man.

Haven't been catching the threads, they (.gov) have been slowly almost leisurely upping the prep time. This is a pattern of behavior that has been drilled into the sheeples heads. Almost like bells and salivating dogs. Lie, wait, start dribbling and leaking, lie some more, finally admit the truth after nobody cares. And we are at the eleventh hour and NOBODY (for most part) cares. They will not care until after xmas. Kosky could go on national teeeeveee and announce its the end, its the end I tell ya 90% of you are not going to make unless you stock up on frozen pizza and milk. They would flip to something more entertaining like big time wrestling.

Sometimes I think these guys and gals in the big house feel so smug and superior with their establishment education that they are truly starting to believe their own lies. And even if they are hosing a large number of the unclean masses, well that's their problem for not having big brain like ourselves.

The truth will come when the systems start methodically breaking down or they declare the big bill emperor emeritus (whichever comes first).

I'd be laughing out loud if I could get past the tears.
