stainless steel jerry cans for water?

Anyone know where USGI stainless steel jerry cans can be obtained? I heard these were relatively rare, expensive, and can be used for drinking water while ordinary jerry cans can't be used for that purpose. (What is wrong with plastic and regular steel?

I've never heard of stainless steel jeryy cans, however we do sell some 15, 30 and 55 gallon water drums that are made from Stainless Steel. They are very expensive.

Our customers for them are people that are extremely allergic to any type of plastic, rust, epoxies, etc. common in all other storage containers. Water stored in these is sooooo good...

I have seen chrome plated and stainless steel looking jerry cans for off-road vehicles. You might to check out off-road supply shops and see if they have stainless steel jerry cans.

A near by army-navy store sells surplus, steel jerry cans that are labeled WATER, so it must be safe to use brand new steel jerry cans for drinking water.
