Congressman Horn - Not Happy with Media Y2K coverage

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Just got off the phone with John Anderson, Host of Y2K News Radio. He shared with me some very insteresting information and asked I share it with as many people as possible.

He had a phone conversation with Congressman Horn. During the call, Con. Horn stated that he is NOT happy with the way the media has been covering Y2K. More information about the phone call will be shared on the show each day this week (dec 6th thru 10th) at Y2K News Radio.

Working with Y2KNewsWire, we can send notice this week to the media and government to tell the truth about Y2K and the possible problems that may affect us all.

ALSO, Y2K News Radio is going to call John Koskinen and invite him to be a guest on the show. (any guesses on whether he'll agree to be on?)

We're down to 26 days as I write this. We have GOT to get the truth out there so as many people as possible can get prepared for potential problems. The more that are prepared, the less problems we'll have IF things go bad.

Listen to Y2K News Radio for the facts. Participate in the Y2K Internet Rally at Y2K Newswire. Help get the message out any way you can.

Ryker, I've throught for a long time that if as many people as possible were prepared, then there would be NO panic. If there had been a simple statement last January about the possible disruptions and a recommended checklist, everyone would be aware and prepared. But, the powers that be have been so paranoid about the possibility of panic, that they've leaned way too much the other way, and now there WILL be panic. The government is too concerned about the impact on the economy, and particularly the holiday sales, that they're risking everything to stave off the news until it happens. This is how revolutions start. And I can hear Clinton now...."Folks, I really didn't know this was going to happen!"

Did anyone just see Kosky on CNN Live? (I saw it on Time Warner Cable, about 8:30'ish here in Ohio...)

Kosky said "We're not telling anyone NOT to prepare. What we're saying is to be prepared. We don't want people panicing and causing a self-fulfilling prophecy..."

A little late for that tap-dance, isn't it Kosky?

Ryker,

I know you are trying to help people, but it is too late. No one listens because the media has worked its magic.

The tiny percentage of people who post here, lurk here, and listen to Y2k News Radio are no match for the machine.

Sadly, it's too late. Say it out loud a few times. It's too late.

Take care of yourself, your family, and maybe a few neighbors. There is nothing else we can do.

Bless your heart for trying.

Ryker,

The truth is out if you really want to face it. The "lines in the sand" have been drawn. If Kosky wanted to speak the truth he would have done so months and months ago. Why to people look to this man to help the situation anyway? He has done everything possible to confuse and immobilze the masses that can't or won't try to research this and conclue for themselves. As for Horn, he's done his best to polly-spin the public also. No one will be a man, a leader and say definitely that yes, there WILL BE ALOT OF PROBLEMS, and some will be life threatening for some people. We must face this, like the Y2K threat and say the time for widespread awareness/action is over and make our final preps...

It's late Ryker. Anything you post here gives more fodder for the Pollys. All they will ever say is that you and Mikey tried to instigate a panic. It's over. What will be shall be.

One way or another, we know that Mike Adams pronounced that he was gonna retire until January because he didn't want to be accused of instigating a panic.

Seems he changed his mind. Is this someone worthy of trust? I don't think so.

Ryker... In a response to your Greenspun post, one guys states that Kosky was on CNN and is now saying that he never told people NOT to prepare. A little late to do a reverse spin, isn't it?

I think that Clinton's Y2K engines caused the Prep Plane to undershoot the runway by a couple hundred yards. The fuselage will soon crash and burn, and instead of arguing about Y2K public policy, we'll be left to do a body count.

Serves the Government right. Serves the Public right who would trust Slick Willie or any of his sycophant subordinates, including Kosky, to slither up and tell the Truth. Having public officials in office who are capable of telling the Truth will gain new importance in a post-Y2K world.

Semper.... pass the pinto beans, would ya?

Greg,

I'm the one who posted about Kosky on CNN.

Koskinen never advised people not to prepare. He ridiculed early preppers, and he said that there is no need to prepare. But he never said the words "Don't do it." Can someone provide a quote to the contrary?

He's walking a fine line, and after 1/1/1900, he can make any claim he likes about what he intended people to infer.

Kosky says "We never told people not to prepare," however, they certainly did make it socially difficult to prepare. Clinton ridiculed us.
