ExCop Comes Through!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Preparation Forum : One Thread

Yesterday I participated in a resorting project organized by ExCop that would benefit a number of Yourdonites who had sense to get into the deal, as well as ExCop's community which is now the beneficiary of a *very* large donation of food that he purchased the day before at a wholesaler.

It can be done!!

Apparently food that has been slightly damaged prior to distribution, say by a wayward forklift truck, can be had for a song, directly from the wholesale warehouse. It involved a very wide variety of foods and household products, so there was something at great value for everyone. Add to that, a chance to spend some good times working side by side with other Yourdonites. And isn't schlepping boxes the perfect way to get in shape for the rollover!

Well done ExCop!

As a participant, I agree and thanks!

Now, we need Stan ASAP. There are hundreds of jars of garlic powder in that shipment and we need to collaborate on a "cooperative prep" as well as find uses for garlic powder pronto.

Ammo?

Medicinal?

????

The local resturant supply house has regular dented or damaged sales. I have bought 50lbs sugar for $1. 50lb pinto beans $2. No. 10 size cans of just about anything $5 a case of 12. These sales are not advertized so you have to know someone who works there to know when they are going to have one. I started my prep foundation with a sale there.

"Where There is No Doctor" -- page 12 -- "A drink made from garlic can often get rid of pinworms. Chop finely, or crush, 4 cloves of garlic and mix with 1 glass of liquid (water, juice, or milk). Dosage: drink 1 glass daily for 3 weeks."

I guess powdered garlic would work too. ExCop, may I please buy some garlic from you???

Garlic repels many garden pests and does not hurt plants. Simply sprinkle around plants or make a solution to spray on plants. Add cayenne pepper too if you have it. Sprinkle it into pet food so it gets into the pet's bloodstream and helps discourage fleas.

I don't know if the powdered works as well as the cloves, but I have it on good authority that this magical substance also repels vampires. I must say, Sweetie and I eat a lot of garlic and have never had a vampire problem, so it must be true.

Old Git -- Does it work as a Polly-Off treatment? Perhaps we should ask Dr. Bill S. to comment on this ......

You guys got lucky. We had some similar deals lined up down here and it ended up with unnamed government groups buying up the food to the disadvantage of us... and the needy.

I thought garlic does well in the garden to keep away pests. Of course, it is essential for kimchi. How much you got?

Sincerely, Stan Faryna
