"Nothing will be attempted if all possible objections must first be overcome" [Samual Johnson].

A gold standard is fundamentally more honest than fiat money. That is reason enough to do it, regardless of objections or initial complications of conversion and implementation. And it should be real gold, not government paperhanging supposedly based on it. 'Nuff said.

BTW -- DAMMIT -- EVERYONE!! -- FORGET TRYING TO HOT LINK -- JUST TYPE IN THE URL. IF SOMEONE CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO COPY AND PASTE, THEY SHOULD GO BACK TO WIPING TABLES AT JACK-IN-THE-BOX.

Actually, if you have two browser windows open, you can just copy and paste the URL from one browser "Location:" box into the text of your reply in the other browser window. No typing required, and as I have repeatedly said, NO HOTLINKS REQUIRED.
